  1. Ok four of us can definately make it for midnight GMT on saturday night. I suggest a mix of 1v1 and mass batfights in there. n.b: need to organise a portland server, it has the best garage for garage fighting.
  2. Fancy another garage batfight this weekend sometime? (i think DK were involved, and even won, the first) We had planned to do so anyway in a casual manner so perhaps it would be a good excuse for a match n.b: i would have to confirm people are available though, we arent exactly a massive gang at the moment
  3. Nice map, but you have missed quite a few, very little has changed weapon placement wise since 0.2 (A stubby removed, flamethrower and mp5 in place of Spaz and some screwdriver/cleaver pickups added) and there should be the map I made when placing them kicking around the forum somewhere. Perhaps using both a complete one could be compiled
  4. Well if you use WINE you dont need a linux version of mta do you.
  5. No, but then Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto Vice City are both win32 games so what would be the point?

njr1489 we do set ourselves goals and timescales, but with this not being regular 9 to 5 work for us (and with most of us HAVING regular 9 to 5 jobs) these deadlines are often passed by, hence why we don't make them any kind of official announcement. To avoid dissapointment. p.s. I was thinking aloud regarding replacing the percentage indicators, not suggesting disposing of any indication whatsoever.

Erm, can you elaborate a little ransom? I don't understand what your trying to say above at all. ------- You guys have said that for so long.. just do it. - Said what? Do what? Wait.. you cant, because it would take a huge toll on MTA, if people couldn't get that satisfaction. - What would? What satisfaction? Guess the stress will forever be on... - What stress?
  8. Uninstall GTA3 and/or Vice City then DELETE the folders left behind. Reinstall afresh and your game will be unmodified. If you like to modify for single player then simply create a second VC install by COPY PASTING the original to another location and pointing all single player modifications to that one.

So hard for us to judge just what percentage each little success in each different area of blue should equal. Maybe its time to lose those percentile displays altogether! How about a rev counter, rising revs and changing gears as we make progress. Then if anything goes wrong or a bug appears (they do, all the time) we can throttle down a bit, fix it and start accelerating again p.s You'd also never be sure what the top speed and gear was so we could always make some last minute additions and a few more MPH without being shouted at!
  10. If MTA:SA is possible (we certainly hope it is) It will mostly be groundwork finding the additions and changes in both mem and scm etc. Once these are done it is hoped it will pretty much slot into the Blue core. So you certainly wont have anything as basic as mtavc 0.1 where san andreas is concerned True in that lag will ALWAYS be an issue and a deciding factor as to just what is included/syncd, but false in that the current cores netcode wont be in use, it would be the significantly improved netcode we have in Blue. Definately true for the timespan tho, but most of this fundamental r&d shoudl be in place already (we hope)
  11. HAHA incredible. your right eai, lets ban I and 1
  12. You found the mod, you went to the trouble to buy the game, you found the forum, registered, posted (double posted in fact), yet you can't or wont go to the trouble of using the search button? Or simply reading the big Known Issues thread and the manual? Seriously, this may seem harsh but when the information is freely available it gets rather irritating to still have people posting the same old already-answered questions.
  13. very nice slant on an old idea chode.
  14. Just do a simple mirc timer if u have mtama setup to autoconnect on start? /timerconnect 1 6000 /mta For instance, this would activate mtama 3600 seconds after being activated (1 hour) Not sure if this is what you mean tho.
  15. Cleverfool the question was aimed at VCES>Twig and his rather odd comment, not yourself.
  16. How is misspelling a name an 'unfixed' MTA exploit? Do please explain, thanks.
  17. This would involve a lot of additional code and more importnatly almost definately more instability for a very small reward, its stunt after all not a team mode where identification of fellow team members is important. Not sure what you mean there?
  18. incorrect, or at the very least misleading. One would think that having been informed above as to the reason for the change that it would have sunk in.
  19. You don't seem to realise, have forgotten, or are ignoring the fact that MTA is still very much beta, as clearly stated in both the documentation and website. Perhaps the long-term players forget this due to just how much fun they have had on what is still very much an unfinished product? who knows, The purpose of beta is to discover the issues, be they game play, stability, design, compatibility etc. Problems coming to light with MTA is GOOD, a problem found is a problem we can try and solve. Sometimes in fixing or getting around these problems others are created in thier place but that too is part and parcel of development and the next Beta release serves its purpose by bringing these to light also. Yes there were mistakes made around the release of 0.5, some things that never should have got through testing. I need not go into the reasons for these but like Beta itself the Team have learnt from them and those mistakes will hopefully not arise in future. As for someones comments that no improvements were made, only cosmetics like a new spawn menu. Well, if you had anything but the most narrow viewpoint it might have occured to you that the old spawn system was the source of the vast majority of crashes in previous versions, the new spawn was introduced to limit this not just to 'look fancy'. As for weapon glitching thats a difficult one to tackle. The fact the game wasn't created with multiplayer in mind along with the way the current core operates results in the glitches, and fixing them isn't as easy as one would think. Nor as rewarding as one would think due to exactly the same people that complained about a glitch then going on to complain about it no longer being possible in the next version (You know who you are). Then there are decisions to be made relating to balance, again due to VC not being created with multiplayer in mind the weapons have a vast differential in Damage per second and theres differing opinions in the team. I feel its best to leave the weapons standard and build the game design around it, others feel its best to tweak the damages, ranges and rate of fire to suit a pre-decided game style. Both have pros and cons and yet again the magic of Beta is we can try both in different versions then decide later which is better. So overall keep the bug/issue reports coming in but bear in mind the concept of Beta and keep the complaints that it isnt perfection away. n.b: For those 'vets' who dislike gta3mta and prefer the 'feel' of 0.3 despite its lack of admin+, decent aim, spectator, stability and its propensity of glitches I would suggest you play it, both the client and server are readily available and many who call themselves 'vets' will have either access to a private server or a friend who does.
