I agree. This community is growing desperate as well. There are numerous topics floating around, a few of which I started, on their community site/forums that discuss how we can save MTA:VC from going down the toilet. I know you guys are focusing on MTA:SA, but if there's any way you can pull a meeting together and agree on open-sourcing it for now, that'd be awesome. After MTA:SA's completion you could consider bringing it back then as well, which I really hope you'll do. Please...the MTA:GTA 3 community is practically dead and MTA:VC is nearing that status as well. Bring VC back, and GTA 3 if you can as well. Examples of these discussions: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=24569.0 http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=14633.0 http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/ ... ?mtab1u3&1 http://clanxperience.ulmb.com/forums/vi ... p?f=1&t=61 http://www.xoxideforums.com/multi-playe ... -auto.html Off-topic: Hey JDC.

There's still a huge chance it could become big again...come on guys! I've only advertised this on one site so far and already within the first day of it's creation there were over 100 signatures. People are still signing it, despite it not even being advertised! I say open source/update MTA 0.5 and let the old school MTA'ers have their fun! http://www.petitiononline.com/mtab1u3/petition.html

We've gotta wait and see what the dev team does first about the 0.5 source and project itself before we know what'll happen...
-
So any news or decisions on MTA 0.5 yet, or the future 0.6/Blue (I hope)? Please guys, I'm begging you. Here I am at age 18, I only get enough time to game late at night and maybe once during the week during the day, and I'm still desperate for this. How sad is that? I started playing MTA when it was at 0.4...come on...

You guys want help? Start talking to this community: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=14633.0 These guys host dedicated servers for multiple GTA multiplayer clients and are run 24/7 with almost no downtime. This community is great and their MTA:3/VC users are begging for some progress on the client. Please, don't forget us!

Yes. Release it!
-
Come on, please! Users have been begging for years for MTA 0.5 updates! If you're no longer working on it, then why question releasing the source? There's really no loss for you guys if you do. Personally, I still think you should release the source code, and then set up an additional team specifically there to work on just the MTA:3/VC project. Once things start rolling along, you could create a beta testing community to try and find all the bugs in it. After that, release it. If the current code is a mess from hell, I don't see the issue with releasing it to the public. Atleast this way someone can't take advantage of this and fix it's issues...
-
Updates, please!!! I would love to help in any way possible but I have almost no free time and I don't know how to script or code. You should set up a closed beta testers group to find bugs by playing the game and reporting them back to you so they can be fixed.
-
You guys should hire your own hackers as well to combat it. Have them purposely find security holes so you can patch them. That's what ALOT of large software companies do. The beta community could also do the same, but with bugs. As for MTA 0.5, please tell me there's a chance for a comeback on this still. Users have been neglected on this for years, and I've repeatedly posted this about it: http://www.petitiononline.com/mtab1u3/petition.html Please, make MTA 0.5 also open source and continue work on it. If you guys are currently too focused on MTA:SA versions, why not atleast create another additional team to work on MTA 0.5 and get it running perfectly again...

Here's a MTA gaming community's discussion on it as well: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?opt ... ic=14633.0

I won't go into details at this time, but I spoke with 2 developers/admins, one of which spoke to a third who helped lead the project. They aren't sure of the route they may take if they do in fact continue development, but I'm sure the browser issue will eventually be fixed if one of the two actions is taken, since MTA: SA DP3 will need the exact same fix anyway...

Betting and knowing aren't the same thing. In fact, I've spoken with them and they are actually considering now either beginning work on the project again, or releasing the source of it after the MTA: SA DP3 release. I hope everything works out!

It's not Vista, it's your so-called third party "Vista-compatible" drivers that aren't actually compatible. Blame your driver companies. More than likely it's your video drivers at fault. I guarantee it's not the OS, though.

It's more than likely your video card's drivers. Although up-to-date, ATI is being extremely lazy with their Vista drivers. They make drivers that are Vista-usuable, but not Vista-compatible. In other words, they took their old XP drivers and made them run on Vista without fixing any bugs that arose due to some OS changes. I experience this issue too with my ATI Radeon X1300 PCI Edition under Vista all the time, but under XP it's fine. Once again, to clear up any issues people have with Vista, it's not Vista that's the problem. It's the lazy companies that make drivers for it that refuse to take their time to make quality products that run correctly.

When a fix for the current MTA releases is made available, why not implement it and make a MTA 0.5.1? No fixes, except to replace the ASE issue. This would give hope to the MTA 0.5 community and allow the administrators to find a reason to bring more support back to MTA 0.5 some day for a future release!
