This should now be resolved.
-
We can probably resolve this issue from the site, by changing the rss feed's character set or removing the invalid characters. We should be able to resolve this within 24 hours.
-
Doing this would have to be combined with respawning in races and a time limit.
-
Well, this appears to be an issue with the xml parser giving up due to the fact that some maps (like http://center.mtasa.com/?p=race&r=538) contain strange characters in them. We'll look into resolving this asap.
-
You're right, that should work. What is the url you have specified in the config.xml file? I've just noticed that if you set downloadsperupdatemax to 0, it will not download any maps. If you have this set, try setting it to a high value if you always want every map downloaded (like 999 for example). Update: I've just reproduced this myself, I'm going to look into why it happens in a couple of hours.
-
Well, I'm sure someone could set up a server that would automatically download all the new maps on the MTA Center. Then you could go and test your maps there. Its just a question of who would run this server...
-
Steps to reproduce?
-
An RSS reader is not required. I've just tried this on IE6 and it worked fine for me, can you provide a screenshot of the page you get when you click the "Add to feed" button?
-
Use Control+F9 - clone in-place and the checkpoint's height will be kept the same when you clone it.
-
Yes, but that was your own mod. Here we have 10-15 people in the team, some obviously more active than others, it'd be very hard to say who got what.
-
Go to the console and type: dbg_pools 1 It'll then show you some debug text down the right hand side of the screen that'll indicate if you're reaching near any limits. If the text goes orange, you're within 10% of the limit and should probably stop, if it goes red, you've passed the limit and objects will probably stop appearing.
-
You can disconnect then alt+tab from the menu. It is up to XFire to get their software to work with MTA, not viceversa.

Download this fix: http://www.multitheftauto.com/downloads ... ader11.zip Only windows for now, linux will be coming out asap. I'd suggest not using 0 as your frequency value, this makes the downloader exit as soon as its updated, rather than waiting and then checking again later on. Its up to you clearly, but I expect most people will want it to run non-stop rather than only when they trigger it. I'd also increase your fullcheckfrequency to somthing like 100 or you'll be wasting a lot of time downloading a big rss file that has nothing new in it.

We'd like to implement respawning mid-race, but the issue is, how do we cope with that in maps with no checkpoints, where do you respawn them? We could respawn them right back where they originally spawned, but in some cases that could be a long way away. I can't think of any other solution myself.
-
Its almost tempting to start doing that, just to make a point. Could make a site like sexingames.com that has mods for every game out there that adds naked skins etc. Would make "hot coffee" look tame Back to MTA...

And it says it was created by Rockstar Games...

You shouldn't need to change any port settings, inbound to play MTA. You should really allow all outgoing ports.

Cool mp mod but havinbg trouble doing a server

The in-game browser is powered by ASE. You can get a list of maps on the server, in-game by using the 'races' or 'maps' commands in the console. You can them vote for a map using 'vote map ____' where ____ is a map name. E.g. 'vote map stunt'. -
Try holding down your control key as you start MTA, it should prompt you for where GTA is installed. Make sure you select the correct folder and see if that helps.

Can people with this issue state what graphics card they have, and please ensure you are using GTA 1.0. If you can obtain another exe version, try that too.

If only two of you are going to play, you can both just vote for your map in the server. If you're the only one there, it'll change instantly if you vote for it. You can also use rcon, which works like the server console, but from the game console. This isn't an area I've worked on, but its certainly possible to do what you want, someone else can probably enlighten you here. You could also remove all the other maps from your server, then you'd always be playing your one You can't choose spawn points, generally you have one map per set of spawn points, so if you want to spawn in the orange grove, make an orange grove map with spawn points there and use that. As for ASE, make sure you have the UDP ASE port open - it tells you which when you start the server up. -
I'll look into seeing if this is possible.

... and it comes with an installer that removes all the files it installs...
