  1. my favorite escape method: START>R (hold windows key and tap R) then type C-M-D and press enter (you wont see anything, try not to make typos) then press ALT+ENTER and youll should go to full screen MSDOS, simply hit ALT-ENTER again to see the desktop. mta freezes for most of us =(
  2. here are some idea's: -> All property you buy has a Heart, only visible to the owner -> If the property has a garage, only the owner can use it -> For every 15 kills or something, a weapon pick-up spawns at your house (only the owner can see it), starting with handgun(15), uzi(30), stubby(45), ak(60), flamer(75), sniper(100), rocket(115) if your house gets stolen you'd have to buy another to see your pickups \ health -> indoors is a safe hideout if you need a bathroom break -> you can invite friends (by invite only) inside (note: all interiors could be a common place, like the gun store in gta3mta) -> a working garage. if you had a car inside it will still be there if you die and respawn (to save the server load, it doesnt physically have the car inside, but just remembers that its there, respawning it when you open the garage door) those are a heap of advantages i think could help property owners, and of course each option could be turned on\off at the server owners discresion

I'm suprised no one has mentioned MTA:SA yet. the game engine for SA seems very similar to vice city. there have been a flew graphics improvements (cars shine better) and vehicle improvements (trains) infact, the same cheat codes for vice city work in san andreas, which makes me wonder if: 1) R* was too lazy to change them 2) R* made them the same on purpose so players wouldnt have to relearn 3) the very same game egine? Chances are good that MTA will be able to work on SA should they so choose to, and maybe even Blue or a modified version of it would run on SA, as their engines are so closely related. so even if Vice City is dated by the time blue \ gta:sa come out, there still is an mta:sa possibility and, there is only one place you can go for grand theft auto online... until a commercial company makes a game like that I doubt there will be that big of a fanloss.

Well I have had that problem before, but other times it runs very smoothly (im on 1.5mb cable) note that the server could be running on a slow connection, just b/c its in your country doesn't mean that it has a fast connection.. someone with a 56k connection could start a server! It really just depends on the server, how many people are in it, and the server connection. The best is to just try a bunch

No-one knows when Blue will be released, however it's unlikely to be released this year. there are only two months left in the year.. also, im saying that I hope blue is out by the time GTA:SA in on pc NOTE: TWO PLAYER CONFIRMED. its not that great, nothing as special as MTA, but basically there are a handfull of coop missions that are all basically the same thing. One person drives, one person fires. There arent two seperate charectars outside of the vehicle, and no split screen.

This topic is a bit aged now, but for those of you who haven't player GTA:SA yet, there is no imeadiate multiplayer mode available, HOWEVER I havent progressed far enough in story to get a girlfriend (yes, that part is true, you can get a girl friend) to know if she becomes a second player. SA rules! It appears to be the same engine as Vice City with various updates (cars look better, trains, physics) so there's hope for MTA:SA. maybe even a modified blue will work, because hopefully blue will be out by the time SA is on PC) one of my fav new features, is you can pause, put a icon anywhere on the map, and then it will show on your radar in game - makes finding hiddem items so much easier! )>- GTAtari -<(
  7. but you can operate the game works, once its loaded into ram. otherwise mta wouldnt work either. all would be needed is to add another radio in the queue so pressing r can go one higher ('higher' in the count of radios) than before. then once this extra radio is initiated, it just puts gta in mp3 mode, but tells gta to load from another folder. doing this once gta has loading and in game is the key. thus no exe moding required and it isnt umpossible, ralph
  8. the games programming simply calls "fall off bike" if speed is greater than some valu. a mod could easily change this valu from 2 to like 40 or 1000 or something, so you can reverse as fast as you like with out falling off. I dont see why this type of mod would be banned on mta. for example, the gta camera hack mod gives you first person viewing as well as a plethora of other car angles. its not really a cheat or advantage. i mean are you really going to be car killing people on a bike moving backwards over 2mph? (it can only go over 2 if you are rolling down a hill..)

IDEA: -> first, this radio idea should be optional -> second, there is a really easy way to implement it. mod GTA to have two mp3 folders. when mta is running, it will add the second one ingame. it will function exactly the same as the normal mp3 player, except gta will load from \radio instead of \mp3. -> for the second mp3 "\radio" folder, just display "Public Radio" instead of "mp3" for the station name this was users could optionally download the radio files. then there could be a standardized protocal for making radios. example: start each one off with and opening welcome from the DJ, ie: "welcome to Dj Gtatari here on Mta's hottest public radio!!" and end with a universal closing statment: "this dj's signing off, but Im sure the next one will rock! stay classy liberty city" thus the could play in any random order and still make sense

Fight 'loser-pansy-script kiddie-gametrash' with 'loser-pansy-script kiddie-gametrash' in otherwords, mta should make special mods that can selectively choose their visiblity to certain players (the ones they suspect are cheating) and they have a special "MTA:CHEAT FORCE" model \ texture, and they have one shot kills for anyone in game. of course they arent there to play, they are there to stop cheaters. (btw, systems like this do exist on massive multiplayer games, however I hardly see the need for in in MTA, once cheat dectection gets better (i hope), but it would be neat, none the less as long as abuse could be prevented)

Another idea, would be to remove the collistion for the back door of the triad trucks so like 10 ppl can jump in the back. i know they could slide out.. but not as long as the walk the direction of the truck. also: when you get in as a passenger, you get in the car and mta switches gta in to drive mode (but doesnt allow you to control.. hey sounds like the idea I proposed long before beta 3 ) anyway it would be cool if gta wouldnt get in car mode, yet it was first person (and you still moved with the car) becaues then you could poke a flammer or ak or stubby out the window and do some serious damage... afterall thats why you call the passenger seat "shot gun"
  14. I agree, its hard to tell other people, from others unless your really close. A color code system would be nice indeed.
  15. seriously. even in real life if your shot with a hand gun your knocked back. Bullet Proof Vests stop the bullets, but you take all the momentum and interia (law of conservation of energy \ conservation of momentum) So most weaker individuals would be on the ground after a handgun, let along a shot gun. I think the shot gun is fine the way it is, with pratice you can side step while holding shift and miss the stubbys blasts, mean while returning a constant stream of fire (with uzi or hand gun) which the shotgunner cannot do.
  16. Gtatari is right, there are numerous accasions where I have shot a vehicle until it came on fire. Then you stand there waiting for the player to jump out, but sometimes the vehicle blows up and a new one appears. Then you have to go blow it up once more This happens in GTA III mostly I think. edit: and of course the vehicle isn't repairing itself, just a bit out of synch. exacty. and yes I've noticed it in GTA3, as I prefer GTA3 to vice city so I play that more often. its interesting to note that that the burnt hull of the car remains as well as the healthy car (after the lag ridden car blows, and a new one (updated) spawns in its place) clearly this must mean that GTA3 treats the black car bodies as objects rather than vehicles with no drivability
  17. after reading that article, I'm skeptical that its actually two player. From previous information, we can recal that you can higher gang members to work with you (get in your car, shoot, follow you, etc) the source that SPOnG is using might use co-op to describe co op missions with ai charectars, AND you may have the ability (in game) to swap between each charectar (so long as carl doesnt die, for example) RPG style. Thus you would have co op one player. No where from that article (which could be total bs) does it say the other player is human. In fact it says just the opposite, you meet her (ai) in a mission... with maybe the ability to switch and play with her INSTEAD of Carl
  18. ps2 broad band games dont have to be split screen, unless i missed it, no one said it was multiplayer w\ out the broadband adapter
  19. you must have lots of ram then, because i used to work for my high schools "computer guy," and one of my jobs was to upgrade the schools hardware to XP, they had pentium 350mhz dells, and they could barely whithstand xp with 32mb of ram and 5 gig hds (not that the hd has much to do with it besides page file)

While I understand those explinations perfectly (and they do give me new insite in to mta that I hadnt had before, being away for so long and such) the the guy I flame throwed I switched from bat (forwhatever reason I had my bat out) to flamer, and he seemed to kill me rather efficiently, so I dont think lag is a problem, however Im definatly more open to suspicion now. thanks

Well yes I was in the Party Server, as well as others but the problem is, is that not that many ppl play gta3mta so usually there are like 3 servers that have ppl in the (party being the most crowded) So it's not like there are alot of options. Thanks, if there are admins I will report any hackers. I think its pretty obvious when you have a flame thrower (and yes I know about the last purchased weapon glitch) and you spread flames all around, and they continue moving, firing, without losing health, then its a hacker. Ive torched people before, and you can see their health sink. especically obvious when you can run over them and they don't loose any I don't mind carkills that much, since this is GTAMTA, but its annoying when you see a yellow dot on the radar moving 300mph and you get car killed from across the map

I don't care if this has already been discussed, I'm just pissed right now because every damn server is full of hackers, and I keep buying weapons and as soon as I attack them they have INF health, and then they kill me, collecting whatever weapons I had. its so annoying, I’m sick of it. please tell me that the next version 0.4.2? has better cheat detection. Here's an idea: If blue if a server detects a hacker, make it auto permanent IP BAN, and save to the servers registry encrypted so the server owners can't just restart the server. That'd be nice. Anyway I'm done ranting, there really needs to be an Anti-mta:mac, because playing MTA is ridiculous.
  24. Yes! Gta PIMP.. the player (or Playa) with the most hoes wins! others can try to steal girls, or they can just use em for health, also the master pimp is invincible!
