  1. ScrewstonPlaya20: Plus, there's a difference between an EXE (executable) and a LNK (shortcut). What you did, was copy the EXE to the desktop, which wouldn't work because there are dependancies (files and folders) which depend on that EXE to function. You need to create a shortcut to the 'gta_sa.exe' file, not copy the EXE to the desktop.
  2. There's also cops vs robbers (which is my favorite). Regarding free-roam, I believe there's one called "Gob's Freeroam..." (or something like that). Also, try out the cops vs robbers ones and see how you like those (ie. my signature [teamnir server]).
  3. GameCopyWorld is a backup helping site. I know what it is; GCW also provides no-cd cracks, etc. I've used GCW previously for other things.
  4. Ok, here's what you do: 1) Create a fresh install; default directory. You'll use this install for use with MTA:SA/singleplayer (no other mods). 2) Once installed, go to where it's installed, copy the directory 'GTA San Andreas' and paste. It will paste while calling the directory 'GTA San Andreas copy'. Rename to whatever you please. You'll use this with use of your other mods. The only way you can use this one is by creating a shortcut to 'gta_sa.exe' (for the copy; ie. on your desktop, etc.), since when you insert the CD/DVD it will only play with the fresh install (1). Both installs should use the same registry values/paths and definitely will run with the CD/DVD. Let me know how this goes.
  5. You'd rename the folder where you installed it. ie. go to My Computer -> Local Disk ( C: ) -> Program Files -> Rockstar Games -> GTA San Andreas [rename GTA San Andreas]
  6. PS - Now, I know it's not my job, but aren't any links with cracks prohibited?!
  7. http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15151 Also, no other mods will work alongside MTA. You could do a dual-install of GTA:SA and use the other one for MTA.
  8. I've also been discussing another feature with Talidan recently and previously in another thread related to the number ID's. Currently, they're only available to be shown in MA, but it would be very useful if the ID's were beside each names when TAB is pressed: Example: *tab pressed* *player window appears* 1. Charlie 2. NazcaC2 3. Big Pie 4. Suga 5. Maniac 6. Speedy 7. Scooba *in main window, type* !kick 4 *resulting in Suga being kicked* !mute 5 *resulting in Maniac being muted* Without access to MA, this would be very useful having the ID's integrated into the (TAB) player window. EDIT: I didn't think partial names were accepted, but they are. That's faster I think.

    MTA Long Night?

Also, Quake 1. That was scary too.

    MTA Long Night?

Doom3 has a singleplayer map download full of those fat walking fools coming at you until you run out of shotgun ammo and then you're a gonner.
  11. rcon throw - tosses/throws the player in a direction across the play area, tumbling and losing health upon (multiple) impact. This would be used for punishment or for fun. rcon throwa - same as above (but, all players).
  12. That's like saying.. you're never going to play a game with even the slightest amount of violence, sex or drugs. Neither of us support the bombings of 911; people have their Freedom/Freedom of Speech Act and may do as they please in regards to map development. Admins have their choice of adding these types of maps to their servers (as such someone said above). No one's forcing you to play on a server with those maps; one less player won't make a difference to the MTA community. It's not that big a deal. It is a recreation of the events which happened on that day which is now history. Personally, I wouldn't want to play that type of map either, but I don't mind that it's on the MTA Centre.
  13. I posted this in another thread (Suggestions); but here it is again.
  14. The other better workaround would be my 2) in my first post which I'm sure we'd all love. The MTA Center should also check for duplicates; no matter the case sensitivity. PS - Oh, and Talidan - I looked to see if there were ID's beside the names when I pressed TAB, and there's only the name and the ping. No ID's; is it a serverside setting or something?
  15. Another thing... Just found this out now. If you type in the map: ie. /rcon startrace sfpd 2 It will fail to start and say that the map has errors; instead it will show a vote of 5 maps. However, if you type (case sensitive): ie. /rcon startrace SFPD 2 The map will start without any problems. Case insensitivity should be integrated. Thanks, NazcaC2
  16. Uninstall MTA:SA; Reinstall. If it doesn't help - uninstall MTA:SA & GTA:SA. Reinstall. Also, check that you're using the latest videocard drivers for your card.
  17. PS - Oh, that's good to know. Thanks.
  18. This is for MTA:SA 1) As an admin or even just PM'ing people, it would be really useful to type in partial names (4 or 5 consecutive letters of the person's name). ie. full name is: BigChickenBigMammaThrasher ie. in console, type: /pm chick hello world ie. in console, type: /kick chick I find it rather cumbersome to type out the entire name especially when there are obscure characters and they're long. 2) While voting for races, listing the maps by number and number selections would be nice too. ie. typing: /races ie. viewing: 1. H8 Crime 2. Break 3. OJinSF ie. typing: /vote race 1 ie. typing: /rcon startrace 1 That's all I can think of a the moment; otherwise great job MTA Team! Thanks, NazcaC2.
  19. I'm in the middle of developing one at the moment, with the exception of removing the health pickups. However, I'm not really working continuously on it. I'll be probably getting back into the jist of things soon. What's the timeframe of when you would require it by?
  20. there's no weaponsync in GTAT yeah ok, but in gtaRumble ..only if you feel like overwriting files in the main install directory for GTA:SA. That's one reason why I haven't tried Rumble. Also, yes, GTA:T is too buggy/laggy.
  21. I'm just saying, if there's one (official) source for uploading/downloading maps, etc. like there is - then there's no real point to having another. People realistically don't like duplicate sources, it just causes confusion. Sure, I could make a forum too and have an upload/download section too, but would it be used?... likely not, due to MTA:SA official site being dedicated to this service. In your case, I would use your site mainly for your movies, rather than being an upload/download source for maps, etc. Carry on though, as you wish.
  22. Personally, I don't see a point... since the MTA Center does the same thing if not more and that's what people will use.
  23. I didn't know that. Also, there isn't a point to Alt+Tab in SA. It just would hog up a slot being afk and be cumbersome, if you're chatting in another program. Unless, perhaps, Xfire gains support for the program. Personally, I don't use Xfire, but that would work too with its screen overlay.
