Popular Post Einheit-101 Posted September 16, 2019 Author Popular Post Share Posted September 16, 2019 UPDATE -Update to MTA 1.5.7 -Fixed a reload animation skip glitch when pressing C+R quickly -Updated dynamic lighting to use new "areVehicleLightsOn" function when the client meets the requirements -Removed the need of pressing "W" to enable debugging for staff members, added new setPlayerScriptDebugLevel instead -Updated Berlin-Mitte to latest version -Fixed an annoying warning of admin panel -Fixed fire rate of Remington Mod. 11 and Sjögren Inertia shotguns Future technical improvements I am never stopping to learn and in the meantime i managed to improve some shader effects, namely dynamic lighting and the water shader. While the new dynamic lighting will most likely not be implemented in SAAW-WW2 (it is very demanding for weak PCs), the improved water shader will most likely hit SAAW-WW2 with a coming update. The changes in detail: Dynamic lighting has been enhanced by a "night-mode" that can actually make nights realistically dark. This effect is demanding and will not be implemented in WW2 but it is a core feature of my next server. Dynamic lighting can also support lightmapping (Textures on objects/vehicles/players that can self-illuminate in the darkness). The follwing picture shows a dark environment at 2:00 AM with a robot that has glowing eyes. Better implementation of dynamic lighting with normal shading - the current lighting method has some issues because it is not compatible with the sun shader. Sun shader will not be used in my next server project, thats why i can make dynamic lighting fully compatible with everything:OLD STANDARD GTA AT NIGHT CURRENT DYNAMIC LIGHTING + NEW NIGHT MODE NEW DYNAMIC LIGHTING + NEW NIGHT MODE COMPATIBLE And now lets get to the most interesting aspect (at least for me, lol, it was a bunch of work) Shore fading! Objects in water do now fade out when they sink deeper into the water, the water is no longer a "hard" surface where suddenly everything disappears. I do have some major issues though, if you would be so kind as to hear them out? Mid game map voting : This is becoming a huge downside to playing SAAW, for the following reasons : > When you are actually winning a battle.... Losing teams often Map Vote throwing away all your hard work, I don't think this needs further emphasis on why this is frustrating and unfair. > Being robbed of ever buying top tier vehicles / restocking ammo trucks etc .. There is nothing worse than having your hard earned $$$ taken from you due to a Mid Game Map Vote, this way the hardest working players are forced to change map and lose everything. You are forced to limit you class choices in this situation also, as to harvest more $$$, top tier vehicles have been removed from most of the maps they once featured in, making this losing grind factor sting even more. > Even when you are losing.... One of the greatest victories one can achieve is that when you turn the tide of battle. You are losing the match, but your luck changes, you and your team mates rally together moral strengthened only to have your turn of good fortune snatched away by a random Mid Game Map Vote. >Losing players in the server .... I'm sure anyone who plays SAAW will agree that most players exit the server due to to a Mid Game Map Change, I play pretty much every day, and see this happen, and i'm certain the above examples are a factor to this. What solidifies this is when mass players exit the server, just the other day we had over 20 players, after the match was interrupted, most of the players left, leaving only 5, including myself. I guess the only argument against removing Mid Game Map Voting is the options available : You have the choice to change the map or press "0" not to change, this however is ultimately flawed, a unified vote that would make the majority of players happy does not exist here, as everyone chooses something different resulting in a minority vote or random conclusion. There is nothing wrong with having multiple choices in this regard, as long as they are required and function in a satisfactory manner. We all enjoy the server, and we all want to have fun. Actually getting to finish a match is very rare now, the post battle screen where you choose your next battle if far more democratic and satisfies everybody. If anyone agrees or disagrees please comment But I do hope we all can agree that this MId Game Map Voting system is redundant and had it's day. Thank you. Punzer Wulf. Do you think its better to enable mid-map voting only if there are only 2-3 players online? This would remove map voting in larger battles. Because it often happens that 2 players join the empty server and then they are stuck on a giant map for 20 minutes. Link to comment

I managed to add specular lighting, shore foam and screen space reflections, but the reflections are currently inaccurate and require additional work. That stuff is not easy. But i think the outcome speaks for itself, it looks absolutely amazing. DEFAULT GTA, NO SHADER: WATER SHADER WITH SHORE FADING, SHORE FOAM, SPECULAR SUN LIGHTING, CAUSTICS, SCREEN-SPACE REFLECTIONS + DETAIL SHADER + GODRAY SUN SHADER + DYNAMIC SKY SHADER 3 Link to comment
