-i.Tanner
I pretty sure this hasn't been sugested, make it so in the admin console the admin can do a shout message like in counterstrike or postal 2, so the message can appear accross the screen ... maybe in gta3 font, and also, maybe make a seperate chat window for some scripts. Black Dragon
hmm... never thought of that... may be extreme usefull to drive cheaters away; just make a big message appear on their screen like 'OMG YOU HAX!1!!!1!!!1!1' multiply times, and the cheater will get pooned and go away Link to comment
orappa
It would be good if they put that into 0.4.5 because it would work well with MTAMA game modes. Link to comment
Slothman
are you talking about something like those "DISQUALIFIED" or "MISSION PASSED" messages? if so, i beleive those are fixed imaged, not a special font. so i dont beleive it will be easy to make new ones (i could be wrong) maybe with some directx written from scratch Link to comment
eAi
Blue will allow a mods to display text anywhere on the screen, or anywhere in the GTA world, along with custom sprites etc. It'd be fairly easy to write an admin mod that would support this. The picture on the blue info page with stars coming out behind the ice cream van demonstrates a basic particle engine using this. http://www.mtablue.info/blue_micro_particles_large.jpg eAi Link to comment

Hawk_Boy
yeah, but people might use those to annoy others....but on he other hand it sounds like a good idea Link to comment
eAi
It'd be up the mod author who could use such features and how. I doubt anyone would make a mod that would display arbitary text on any other user's screen as its pointless. It could be used for all sorts of other things though, look at other games, such as Half-life that use similar text for saying what server you're on, or displaying stats or server provider advertising. Theres lots of possibilities, and theres no reason to assume that any feature we add will be used to annoy people - we hope the community is slightly more mature than that. eAi Link to comment
JacoB
Anywhere in the GTA world.. interesting. Its like a 3d text thingy just sitting in gta, that is awesome. But I'd hope we can change the draw distance and size of it. Link to comment
OpiuM.
OMFG!!! like.....Sprays? spray0r!!! Link to comment
eAi
No, not sprays, as we can't (as it stands) find the orientation of the surface being looked at. Could do similar things though... maybe a floating spray that slowly floats up into the air and fades out... eAi Link to comment

Patolider
still a lot of time to wait for blue it would be cool if it was included in mta 0.4.5 Link to comment
-i.Tanner
You notice that almost any sugestion u run by eai, he says that u can do it urself with a mod?.. well what WILL be included in mta blue already lol Link to comment
eAi
A Blue mod has almost no limits... Within reason of course. It can't solve the answer to life the universe and everything, but it can keep us amused until someone else does. eAi Link to comment

eAi
Probably - we haven't confirmed exactly how the gui will be integrated yet. Somthing we're working on at the moment. eAi Link to comment
alexs-
What about a admin option to locking people? So that they can't walk. Link to comment
JacoB
That makes prison mods a good idea. Like if someone tries to shoot your car while your in a street race, automatically put them in prison for 5 minutes. Link to comment
alexs-
lol, i hope that makeing mods for blue is easy... Link to comment
orappa
lol, i hope that makeing mods for blue is easy... They'll make tutorials. It should be easier than modding single player though because MTA will handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff. Link to comment
eAi
We think that blue addons are much easier to use than the SCM equivalents (where they exist), mainly because we've got a very nice object orientated interface as well as a better naming system and more error checking than the SCM has. We also have no limits for size etc. eAi Link to comment
