orappa
If I recall correctly, didn't they allow coloured names in a previous version and later removed this function? Edited December 8, 2004 by Guest Link to comment
Point Blank
i wasnt aware of that Link to comment
NosGoth
In previous versions you were able to make a tag in front of your name so you got colloured names ingame. But because this affected the entire list of names below you they removed it so the game would crash less often. Link to comment
eAi
For a start, we don't have a client interface as shown in your "proto type"... Anyway, an addon could probably add the ability to have coloured names (at some point anyway), but generally its rather open to abuse, and doesn't really enhance the gameplay in any way. eAi Link to comment
Point Blank
if there was some way to put it i think it would be good just gotta figer out how to stop the abuse with it i remeber way back people usted to come in with colored names i think it was a crack or some shit ? Link to comment
Slothman
when i first saw colored names, i thought it was neat, just not fully implemented. i fuly expected the next release to include a drop down color selection or something. people were making thir name invisable andmessing up the entire menu. you would think it would have been easy to have it force a "white text" command after all the names. 1 white menu 2 color command 3 nickname 4 white color command 5 repeat for next nick i understand though- not a priority. eAi
As I've said name tags in blue will probably be much more flexible, much more dependent on what the mod developer wishes them to look like. This isn't finalised, but thats what we'd like. eAi Link to comment
Cam.
Or if people abuse the color tags in a server, you can make it a server-side option. Link to comment
chaozz
on a public server colours would be useless in my opinion, because everybody can choose the same colour. but, in a TDM match between 2 clans, colours would be a welcome add-on. Link to comment
eAi
There will be colours for teams, clearly. eAi Link to comment

Guest
Indeed, colors would be quicker cordination, so friendly fire is at a minimum in clan wars Link to comment

(apparently you can do this - I haven't played it though) Link to comment
eAi
Well, disabling friendly fire would be a better option for most team based games. eAi Link to comment
