TempEcho
Before reading , if you don't know what a MMORPG is , please check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMORPG. I am not reffering to full MMORPG capacity's , Im suggesting semi-MMORPG features like: Centralized login system: you register a username and password on the MTA website. In your client you must put in our username and password before you can play. email addresses are validated just like witht hese forums when you signup. Afcource , this login system will have multiple servers around the world in case one fails. Centralized scoreboard: default - on ,- When you play on a server with the scoreboard enabled your score is posted on a centralized scoreboard system. This scoreboard alows you to check your own score and maybe your favorite weapon / character / enemy. Centralized Shopping / Money system. In game you can buy guns and ammo with money you get from killing people. You start of with 2000 or something. Then you can buy some pistol ammo and uzzi ammo. If you elave the game / make a purchase , the game contacts the MTA server and saves your money / guns ammo. Safe shopping (im not talking about some comercial for a credit card) , all gun shops are safe area , you can not fire a gun at people that are in the shop if they are buying a gun / weapon. You can also buy body armour. Each kill gets you 100 dollar. Rank (people that play gunbound should know what im talking about). You start with a rank of 1. With that rank you can only play on nrewbie servers to prevent that you and other newbies get killed over and over by players that are too powerfull for you. The servers should be aranged in these rank blocks: 1-10 (newbies) 10-20 (advanced) 20-50 (professional) 50-75 (expert) 75-100 (completed players) Players that have a higher rank then the server allows will not be allowed. The higher the rank the more advanced the servers get. the newbies rank should have the hunter disabled and the minigun / spasz / stubby and MP5 the complete rank should have more cars , the hunter enabled , and all weapons allowable. Buying Cars This is one ive been realy waiting for. You can buy card via the pause menu . Just go to a silent place where nobidy is , go to the pause menu , select buy car (THIS IS NOT REAL , this is a suggestion!)and the car spawn in front of you. All cars should be 100 bucks , and you can only spawn medium power cars (esperanto / stallion / faggio etc.). The cars will not be saved , and are single use only , if you die , you loose the car too. The cars are locked / bullet proof for everyone but you if you buy one to prevent theft before you even got it. Resuming If you die , you respawn at one of the spawn points , and you loose 10 bucks , the one that killed you will get 100 bucks or something like that. you also loose 10 bullets for every gun you ahve (the one that killed you will get them). You WILL get your guns back at spawning , just not your body armour. So if you bought a minigun with 1000 bullets or something , you will still have that minigun at spawn , just with 990 bullets. Balancing Afcource , a game , no matter what kind of , will need serious balancing. You will all be as hard to kill as eachother. You will take just as long to kill someone as an enemy does to kill you in Singleplayer. tips Just a suggestion , but maybe Dracoblue can help the MTA team with some of the suggestions as he allready made an attempt to MMORPG (centralized login / scoreboard etc.). Please note that this are just uggestions and are not implemented (yet). There is a BIGGGGGG chanse that they will never be implemented by the MTA team. Thank god Blue will have MOD support so maybe someone else can do this if the MTA team doesnt. If needed I can host the scoreboard / login system.... Link to comment
TempEcho
Sorry for the double post , but it just occured to me that I forgot to post something: all your comments / ideas / balancing comments are apriciated. I just hope an MTA team member reads this Link to comment
Black Dragon
yeah well... it IS a good idea.. always liked the idea of an rpg element in mta. most of it could be done just right now with mtama(not incl. the money in vice city. and you cant make the server add to your money in gta3). its all a matter if anyone would MAKE such a thing. TempEcho
thanks , but MTAMA , you can do stats , but I don't think you can save guns , buy guns and buy cars? and the guns are saved? Anyways , anyone else wants to say something? Link to comment
TempEcho
I know... can't wait for it , and semi mmorpg stuff Link to comment
eAi
I think all the things you've mentioned will be possible in blue (with an addon)... and much more. eAi Link to comment
TempEcho
now , thats good news. Link to comment
MAD_BOY
blue.eAi spammer anyway, i like the idea, BUT wouldn't it be a bit expansive to place servs to keep the data all over the world? Link to comment
TempEcho
maybe Wojjie wold do it? Or else I can host a 24/7 server Link to comment
Slothman
the only thing that i would question there is vehicle purchasing. There will still be a limit to how many vehicles can be in the map, so if someone bought a car it would be taken from somewhere else. imagine driving down a street and all of a sudden you get ejected and you land on yer butt cause someone just bought yer car from under you maybe have all the really good cars designated solely for purchase and have them in a parking lot/used car lot instead of appearingoutof nowhere. with designated cars, you could adjust the price and properties per car, a bullet proof rancher could cost a fortune, while a regular fast car can be a normal price Link to comment
TempEcho
look , now thats a good idea , we just put some cars on the top of the highers building in VC so no one can reach it. Link to comment
Si|ent
You could just park them all in a car lot, locked, then 'deliver' to the purchaser. Link to comment
Kent747
BLUE doesn't handle car creation the way past versions of MTA does.. there is no static ammount of cars that are loaded at teh beginning, the server can create cars on the fly... however yes there are still limits to how many total can be created, something that the addon developer will ahve to keep in mind. at this point however the server can not remove cars on teh fly.. this is something we may look into... Kent does that mean the you can place a vehicle over a player whilst they are ingame? like '*dang* ow, where did that car come from?' Link to comment
TempEcho
no , afcource not , but the server can , I guess. Link to comment
Scorp
Yup, I'm gonna annoy my friends with placing cars on their heads when we finally will be able to enjoy MTA:Blue on LAN Link to comment
Slothman
so you can spawn them, but not erase them, that may be a problem. does this mean mta itself will not enforce the limit, but depend on the coders competence Link to comment
Kent747
well as with anything nothing is finalized, all I'm saying is at the current point ofBLUE"s development thats the case.... however the progress bar is only at60% and its soemthing the team has been discussing how to handle for a while now..
