Hawk_Boy
about the players not looking realistic when glued on helis, heres what i thought could fix that:http://img.gamekult.com/photos/00/00/32 ... 7375_2.jpg someone could add some wings to the helis sides and the players would be crouching in glued mode another screen: http://www.acquapendente.org/immagini/bhd6.jpg http://www.barringtonhigh.org/library/M ... 20down.jpg That would kick some serious ass! Hawk_Boy
I think MTA Team should use their precious time on things that matter...if it is going to cost months to get drivebys.. then just forget them and do something else like server features, glitchs and stuff No man People want this version to be perfect Link to comment

eAi
Well addons can create team systems easily, where you choose a team/skin etc. Much more logical than using name tags. eAi Link to comment
Slothman
as far as the glue thing goes, i wish you mta devs would put it as a regular feature, not as an addon. that way all the mods could have it automatically Link to comment
Scorp
It's definetly something you should consider, a request from almost all the community is to be able to shoot from cars and boats. Having it as default would be great. Link to comment
l2ebel
i think eAi said sometime ago that they will include it as a standard so everyoe can use it Link to comment
eAi
Different mods will want to attach people to vehicles in different ways. It would be a waste of our time trying aticipate how everyone wishes to do such things. As we've said before, we'll try to release some sample code that can be implemented and adapted as required. Putting it in as default is beyond what we aim to do with Blue, which is develop an extendable core for creating multiplayer games with GTA, not adding features to GTA. I don't think that we'll see - in the long run - a huge number of minor mods, as we have at the moment - one mod per server in effect, we'll probably end up how half-life has, with a couple of very popular mods. This is because creating a mod for blue, propperly will be much more time consuming than the basic logic checks you can do with MTAMA. I'm not saying you won't be able to quickly duplicate what MTAMA can do, but I'm saying that so much more will be possible. This means that the best mods will probably require a lot of time to be put into them and concequently, they'll be better products and more widely played. We'll also be trying to work out a system for getting mods to users, so they'll be much easy to get at than the current methods... eAi Link to comment

JacoB
What I'm afraid will happen is this: There will be 500 servers, all with one person in them, wishing for people to go in and test 'their mod', wich they probably spent weeks on. Link to comment
XcR
yes i agree, it could end up being unbalanced Link to comment

orappa
That'll probably happen at first, but word of mouth should separate the better mods and attract more people to them. Link to comment

What about the 1337 coders that will appear out of nowhere, months after Blue's release. They would most likely spend weeks on a mod, and it will never get popular. /me hopes mta team comes up with a good way of distributing blue addons Link to comment

I predict a thousand mods up for download, and maybe a good 30 popular ones. A very good mod might just be "another mod", and easily underrated and overlooked. Link to comment

It's only underrated if people keep it under their hats. Link to comment

ijsf
Take a look at Half-Life's MetaMod which 'extends' Half-Life's (mod) capabilities. There are a few really good mods (plugins) for MetaMod: Admin Mod, AMX (almost dead) and AMX Mod X. If you look under the Plugins section of Metamod's site you see there are dozens of mods available, and only the best of them are used. But there are also smaller mods which add small things, and might come in handy for some server admins. Link to comment
Slothman
unreal tournament got around this problem with "mutators" as they called it, where mods can be added and removed alongside eachother. but no one could reasonably expect that out of mta Link to comment
