Guest Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Whenever I try playing MTA, the sound never works. If i try going to the menu it says theres no audio hardware. Yet the intro music works. It used to work before I re-installed vice city. Please help?

Turbo X Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 taht used to happen to me before and i dont know why or how i fixed it...
Guest Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 it could just be something like getting a new mouse u have to wait before ur computer knows its there..........well something like that what i mean is sometimes when u make changes to something such as vc.it might take awhile before it catches on with everything.
Si|ent Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Delete 'GTA_VC.set' in X:\whatever\My Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\ and then restart game and it should identify your hardware correctly.
Dgtadude Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Long time ago . first day gtavc for pc was released . i tried it out and there was no sound in the game .. the only sounds that worked were the intro movie sounds . and the radios .. I was so mad i formated my pc .. it worked after that . after some search . i found that it was a program i had that recorded audio comming in and out of the sound card.. check to see if u have any simular audio related tools installed .. if yes .. try to remove it .. it might help .. if the following dosen't ^
NosGoth Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 MrBump's method works. It's basicaly removing your config-file so all the game-configuration's will be set to their normal values. Meaning that: Your keybinds are back to square one, your resolution will be ....ed up and any other change-related thing will be set back. Meaning that you can finally save your setting's normally and thus have actualy ingame-sounds. (I hope )
