MTA Server On Linux

omg, learn linux....

open it with a terminal

example:

you are logged in as EdwardTobia, you open a terminal

lets say you extracted the server into /home/EdwardTobia/mtaserver/

then you type in the terminal:

./home/EdwardTobia/mtaserver/MTA0.4.1-server

(i think MTA0.4.1-server was the name of it, if its not, change that to the right name) then the server starts with the default settings

you can change the settings by editing the config.cfg (or whatever its name is, its a .cfg file that's in the package) with your favorite text editing tool

now, does anyone know for a fact that the linux server is more stable (or vice versa)

i know all us unix people will just outright assume it's better on linux, but has anyone actually tested linux vs win32?

linux uses way less CPU, therefore, the speed increses on the server.

Linux also seems to be less on memory usage.

yes, we all know linux is lighter on resources, but im asking if people have noticed significant changes, like less user crashes (when all users crash at once) or maybe better syncing.

ps:mandrake has the best install, so damn easy (and a kickass partition tool)

did you ever try XandrOS?

noone has tried it and is telling me its worse then anything else.

the reason i got it was to have somin nobody else had btw.

(try it, it has one of the best partition tools.)
