Specific Modes?

Hey,it's been a while since my last post.

I had an idea,probably only possible with the new core.I know syncronizing pedestrians and traffic would be almost impossible(Bandwithd,etc.),but would it be possible to syncronize a small number of actors with a certain behaviour for everyone in the game?

Take an example of the gta3 mission 'Bomb da base',where you have to shoot the men in that ferry and protect 8ball aswell @ the docks;would it be possible to syncronize the actors so that the mission could be done in group?And then when the ending cutsene was to be played(In this case,the ferry blowing up),it would start it for everyone at the same time,so that people would get the reward(If possible)/ability to move at the same time?

Another example could be in VC,in Cortez's last mission(The one where he sets sail),the players taking comand of the sailors,syncronizing the atackers(Not human btw)in the boats(I know boats aren't working,it's just an example)and in the helicopters.

And the gamemode could be called 'Mission',where the admin would choose which mission to play,thus only spawning the necessary vehicles and pickups related to the mission and spawning the players in correct positions for the mission to start,withouth loading some parked cars,etc to avoid the possible breaking of the engine's limits(Although the ability to start the mission while playing in the whole city as it is at the moment would be nice too).

I'm sure this feature would be very popular in the future :idea:

That's not a bad idea, but would it just loop the same mission over and over again?

We have many exciting features planned for the new core. More information will come in the future. One thing we can promise is that you're going to love it :)

hmm, I think I will eat my keyboard if I have to wait too long :P

j/k, I really hope you can manage to make the new core as exciting as you say it will be.

about boss' idea: I like it, I really do, but there will be problems with people being ignorant and just killing whoever they want to and not listening to the instructions of the missions...

But I hope it can be done in MTA, keep up the good job...

JonChappel:It would be cool if it had a vote system,so that after the mission is finished,people go back to 'roaming' the city,and then they could vote for which mission to start,or simply do the classic rampages that are already present in mta. :idea:

idd, that is a nice idea, didn't think of that. But then everyone on the server has to play it. But hey, it's the same as king of the hill i.e. , if someone doesn't want to play it, just leave...

it will be EXTREMELY laggy if u put ai in plus the city would be rather packed....

If you put in AI players, wouldn't that mean that there'd be less space in the scm for normal players? (as you no doubt guessed, I don't know much about GTA modding)

hmm, the lagging all over the map can be fixed, just make the .scm that it only loads ai within a certain amount of distance, like gta does now, you don't think that gta loads all the players and cars on the entire city do you?

The problem with that is that in SP, the player can only be in one place at a time, but in MP, players could be dotted about all over the map, so this probably wouldn't make much difference in terms of combating lag.

There is also the factor of converging 'bubbles' with this system, if you allow say 4 or 5 peds per player then that sounds fine, not much more data needign to be sent, but as a player nears another, then each players 5 peds will need to be syncd for each, multiply that by 20 players or more and you get a massive drain bandwidth wise, or problems deciding which to remove if you choose to just 'cull' the additional as people converge. Theres also the fact that peds just get in the way! even with the lack of name tags they are distracting and it can be difficult to pinpoint your enemy at a medium distance (we tried unsyncd peds in one test, just to see what it looked and felt like).

Personally i think the most likely scenario for a multiplayer ped and traffic filled city would be a two player co-operative mod, but this would be an entirely different project to MTA. One that I'm amazed nobody has had a go at :)

i think that all u need to do is to copy the MTA scm and put it into the SP mode and ull get multiplayer SP

i stared playing MTA

and i didn't got the Character selection screen it started like normal SP game but with all MTA features and btw it dissconnected me from the server after a while and said suspected trainer usage

but i have no cracked client it just heppend

don't know how

Just watch it and ull get it!
