External HTTP file download error

Question

I often get this error: "#1006 External HTTP file download error:Error downloading requested files. Couldn't resolve host name. [Could not resolve host: epicrow.eu] [some lua file] (Reconnecting with internal HTTP)"

Does that mean that my website host is slow? Does anyone know a fast external HTTP?

Couldn't resolve host name means your DNS failed to turn epicrow.eu into an IP. Try via cmd.exe to "ipconfig /flushdns"

No, I still get the error quite often.

It's 1. issues with the files on the server,

try this: cmd > (first flushdns as Woovie said)

and then: ipconfig /registerdns (quickly after flush)

after that, this: cmd > netsh winsock reset

(make sure you run the prompts as administrator btw)

and restart your PC

Restart my pc? How is that gonna help? This website is not hosted on my computer.

That was for after the 'netsh' command i listed (the change it makes needs a reboot)

so unless you restart your PC after you won't know if it worked.

Does this happen for everyone else as well, or just you?

What if the httpdownloadurl line in your mtaserver.conf files?

I think this is some problem at the client end, and not your server. It could be due to firewall, anti-virus, virus, parental controls, local DNS server failure etc.

Affected players should automatically reconnect and use the internal web server.
