Guest
The template: - I've read the terms at your site and I agree to them. - The template is now on my webspace.. Would you like a RAR or ZIP file ?? - If there is something missing or if i overlooked something that's neccesary please tell me. - I used Iframes. I think they are easy to use as well to update as to do anything else. anyway: here's the link... http://www.lembregts.net/beck/GTA/ p.s.: The forum link is offcourse not working. and If you want the font I used. no problem. just give me a sign. regards, Mathieu Van Neck Link to comment
Black Dragon
no its not. i like it. i like it very much actually. just put something in the main text location like uh.. i dunno, just put something there. overall: good job. looks awsome. Link to comment

orappa
Broken link... perhaps it doesn't load (end of month, small bandwith) No, it came up with a 404. But it's ok now. And all I can say is =D> It looks great. I also reckon you should put text in - just paste the stuff that's on the current home page so that we can see what the final version will look like (were it to be implemented). Link to comment
orappa
okidokie, will do now Thanks. Another suggestion I have would be to colour the progress bars (similar to how they are on the current design), because it's difficult to tell the difference between 90 and 100%. Edit: Actually, now I come to think about it, there's one big problem with the design, and that's that it only shows Vice City. MTA 0.4 is all about finally bridging the gap between the two games to offer multiplayer for both GTA3 and VC in one client. With that in mind, these are my suggestions: 1. I love the intro page, but I reckon there should be some code to randomly choose either a VC or GTA3 intro pic. 2. On the main site, there are 3 pics at the top. I reckon one of them should be for GTA3. 3. On the main text bit, there's a vertical sliver of Tommy Vercetti. Perhaps there should be one of the guy from GTA3 on the other side. Link to comment
Bob_TDH
Good job man. It looks just great. Link to comment

MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted June 28, 2004 MTA Team Share Posted June 28, 2004 indeed, a balance should be reached. the banner from wojjie can be removed. i wuld also recommend to make the top banner wider and (re)move the login don't use frames cause the design now is binded to one optimal resolution it is only IE compatible and seems to use a lot of graphics and please note that the team has been debating the future of the site (including the template) so altough you are creating a verry nice template, please don't be dissapointed if we do not use it in the end. l2ebel
very nice work with the design but i agree that theres too much vc and the main banner at the main site could be a bit bigger and maybe more .gifs so i thought that i still have many gta3 and vc gifs laying on my hd and the only thing i used them for was my mta banner: ^i cut out pixel after pixel to get all these elements together on 1 pic so if you want any of them just contact me on icq,msn,pm...... ..just offering.... darkdreamingdan
looks kewl but because im fussy, i have to stab sum suggestions at u. as jon said,i reckon the progress counter shud be in colours, and i reckon it shud be a progress bar not just a counter(dunno y). and as other ppl said, it needs a alance between gta3 & vc, and i know i dont matta that much, but there is a pic of a boat in the banner (misleads n00bs ). and one more thing, i reckon u shud integrate the pricedown font a little bit more, like the 'multi theft auto' tiltle @ the top. otherwise spot on Link to comment
OpiuM.
well i like the site yall have already, but maybe, yo all can implement a skin changer? Link to comment
orappa
L. Beck, nice to see that you've added some text. However, seeing that, I agree with Blokker that an inline frame isn't best for that situation. Link to comment
StAnToN
i think the site design is wicked but needs more than JST vc it should have some GTA 1 GTA LONDON GTA2 AND GTA3 IN Link to comment
orappa
i think the site design is wicked but needs more than JST vc it should have some GTA 1 GTA LONDON GTA2 AND GTA3 IN GTA 3, yes, but why the others? MTA doesn't support versions of GTA lower than GTA 3. Link to comment
StAnToN
so..... it will give more of a gta "feel" to it Link to comment
orappa
so..... it will give more of a gta "feel" to it Right...... but it's MTA, not GTA. It could mislead people, having pictures of games that aren't even supported. Link to comment
Guest
L. Beck, nice to see that you've added some text. However, seeing that, I agree with Blokker that an inline frame isn't best for that situation. I'm trying to get the horizontal bar away. and if that doesn't work. i'll quit the idea of Iframes. also. I will change the top font to a GTA font and your banner is good l2ebel, but it needs to be wider since i will delete the login on the right. also. i'll try to add some more GTA pics in it but it's really damn hard to find good GTA^pics & renders (altough i ussualy rende myself). Trust
it is only IE compatible no it isn't, I use netscape7 on this PC and I can view the site normally. At least I don't notice any error or incomplete thigns. seems to use a lot of graphics That is true, it loads veryyy slow. But I like the design, altough it does need some more gta3, like said before. great job man. Link to comment
tbot
It looks quite nice, I have some suggestions though: - Have the page validated by the W3C HTML validator (http://validator.w3.org) - Use of images isn't necessairily bad, but in your case the size of the images is quite big. Keep in mind that there might also be 56k users viewing the page. Give in some quality to bring down the size (60kb for the banner is quite much, in an ideal case it takes 12 seconds for a 56k users to load it). - The text size is quite small, make it a bit bigger so it requires less effort to read it. - Underline hyperlinks, or make them easily distinguishable by giving them an other color, a combination is even better. - Get rid of the image at the left of the news, it interferes with the text by drawing the viewer attention away from it. - The Iframes might be not the best choice, especially not for the progress bars (they don't work in Firefox). For the rest it looks quite nice, keep up the good work. Link to comment
MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted June 29, 2004 MTA Team Share Posted June 29, 2004 trust : the progressbars aren't displayed correctly in mozilla. Link to comment
orappa
trust : the progressbars aren't displayed correctly in mozilla. I heard that it's best to make sites Mozilla / Firefox compatible because they use the official W3C syntax. IE tends to be more forgiving of bad code, so any page that will work in Mozilla / Firefox will work in IE. And yeah, the images are a bit excessive. It would definitely load a lot faster if you scrapped the text images and just put plain text in. Link to comment
