dodo11 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Which the distro linux will better, Cent OS or Debian? Grateful.
WhoAmI Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I'm currently using Debian and i don't have any problems with it. It's best OS for servers in my opinion.
dodo11 Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 I am going to use Debian then. I am having other doubt. Which is better for to configuration, 32 bits or 64 bits?
MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted April 1, 2014 MTA Team Posted April 1, 2014 As far as i know, we build our linux version on Debian so that's what I would recommend. MTA should work on any distribution, but RedHat based distributions (like centos) have proven difficult in the past to install. 32 or 64bits largely depends on the system you are running. While 64bit has a slight speed advantage, the only real benefit comes from using a machine with more than 4GB of RAM. If you have 4GB or less, go for the 32bit and save the trouble of having to use a system that mixes both 32 and 64bit libraries.
=KoG=Rouche Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Debian <3 i'm running 5 Servers with 64 bits and 16GB Memory
dodo11 Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 1.2GHz 768MB RAM 20 MBps net How many players can have this server without lag? Thanks!
MTA Team Dutchman101 Posted June 26, 2014 MTA Team Posted June 26, 2014 1.2GHz768MB RAM 20 MBps net How many players can have this server without lag? Thanks! quite some, but the bottleneck is the RAM. would your server have longer runtimes it can eventually crash on memory usage exceeding it, (read https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=76913 but with 768 mb it can happen earlier) but if you keep an eye on that it should work fine, playercount it can have without lag can depend on some factors, like player's ping, server load (resources) and so
