Si|ent Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 The old Rough equation for 0.2 was 2-3KB/s x # of players x # of players (server upstream), So two remote players would be between 8 - 12K, 5 would be 50 - 75K, 10 would be 200 - 300K and 24 would be 1152 - 1782K. This is a little out of date as some netcode tweaks mean its much more variable in 0.3, (and it was never that accurate anyway), It is also dependant on the amount of activity over 24 hours, even the connection speed of the players can effect it, (lots of dialup players arent going to use much lets face it). 0.3 uses less bandwidth on the whole. Really the best way is to run the server and monitor it.
