Guest Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 I recently bought this game and I've noticed the multiplayer download was up. Now I was told by my mate he was having problems playing with his downloaded version of GTA because his CD Crack was being recognised as a sort of "cheat" that prevented him from online play. I use a cd crack for almost all of my games mainly because i've got stashes of cds and only 2 drives to put them in, so I decided to get a crack for VC. Only I found that indeed MTA was not allowing this crack at all and wouldn't let me load. Now I understand that this community does try to prevent cheating with a extremely basic of anti-cheat, but so far as too stop the game loading itself because someone doesnt want to play the game without the disc in their drive? Weird stuff
orappa Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Many people use CD cracks perfectly with MTA. Whilst MTA don't endorse their use, they don't do anything to stop it. My suggestion would be to search around for other cracks, or just use the CDs.

The usage of cracks is in fact illegal and we do not support illegal software. We encourage ppl to buy the game if they want to play it. We have not taken any action to block cracks, since that is not our line of work. We will not tell you where to find a working crack and we certainly will not post up cracks ourselves or allow anyone to put up links on our boards/irc.
