orappa
I saw the beginning of it (the first 40 mins or so) and it looked pretty good. I was then interrupted and I never got round to watching the rest, for some reason. Edit: Btw, it's Battle Royale. Link to comment
dystopia
One of japans greatest cinema treats. If you liked it you should check out ichi the killer as well, it's uber gorey and, well, insane o.0 I think u can pick it up at most fry's electronics. Link to comment

teh-spam-man
its this film where these chinese( i think) kids get sent to a remote island with tags around their necks to stop them leaving, and they have to kill everyone and be the last kid standing/alive on the island. Link to comment
orappa
Basically the Japanese government are having trouble with the younger generation, and so in an attempt to teach them a lesson they come up with the Battle Royale Programme. Every 7(?) years a class is selected at random to go to a remote island where they have to fight each other using random weapons (some people have pots and pans, others have machine guns). They each have these tracking necklaces on which explode after 3 days unless there is one person left - you have to fight to save yourself, otherwise everyone will die. Note: The film is in Japanese with English subtitles, but I didn't find that it detracted from the overall experience. Link to comment
Prokopis
When it comes to mindless violence for incomprehensible reasons, my #1 choise for a movie is definitely "Mean Guns" (1997) with Christopher Lambert. It's so dumb, it's mind-numbing! Link to comment
