Guest Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 In my clan .v!rUs ( .v!rUs-jkm (me) and .v!rUs-mils started) we dont have our own server yet, and 2 members of it got banned for doing nothing. they were innocent and i want to know if they can be turned back on? the server was "MTA Official Server (MTA:VC 0.3.1) - http://www.wojjie.net - TX, US #1|90ms|69.93.207.148:2003" i can have their ips soon also if you need. their names were .v!rUs-JMR and .v!rUs-jacky. is this in the right fourm? the virus clan is growing and fully supports MTA and will have its own server soon.

dystopia Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 not to mention one of your members is named cheater...i mean....playing MTA for an hour should have made him reconsider the handle lol and when ya'll were on the official last time i saw ya, none of your clan had the best ping, are you perhaps eurpoean? a 200 ping and up can often convince new people that someone is a cheater.

I tried changing it to .v!rUs-Jeff and I was banned. So it's not the name. And if everyone's ping was 200, why did only me and Jacky get banned? And we're not european, at least from what I know.

Just contact a mod of the server via pm and explain yourselves, if you're truly not cheaters there is no reason you can't contact them directly. for a quicker response join #mta-servers on irc.multitheftauto.com

It's not the latter part of the name that's the problem - "virus" coupled with the letter style that a lot of hackers use sounds extremely dodgy to any admin.

Guest Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 thanks for the replie. i dont know of why JMR was banned, but i do know why jacky was, his bro on a diffrent computer on their networ logged on as F#4k. and proptly got banned. i agree with that, altho jacky has the same ip. their network is setup tru jacky's computer so she got it too. is there any thing to do about that? **edit: i will ask the guy named cheater to change names, even though hes not been banned***
dystopia Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 the easy way to solve jackys problem, is to kick her bros ass, and tell him not to screw around i guess lol. They run under one ip, so it's about impossible to change the situation unless they get a business account with multiple ips (assuming they had the hardware, best bet is they wouldn't), and then an admin would probably just block the subnet lol
notjesus Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 There is a problem here with me as it seems my IP is banned from IRC permanantly.. I never even been to the channel for at least a few months and I can't even play MTA anyway since I still have win 98 I tried to visit IRC around the time the web server was having problems (usually when I just go on to ask if my ISP is acting up again as it can't display the mta site sometimes...). What can I do here?
