Guest
I really have no clue what is going on but about 3 months ago I re-installed vice city and I have this huge problem. None of the good textures load the whole city looks like utter crap, even worse than the ps2 version. If I stand in one place for like 3 minutes the nice textures will load up but who wants to do that? I cannot even tell what the stores are or if there are medians in the road because none of the graphics load. Its weird because I uninstalled it and later I got a new video card, tried it again and it did the same thing, since then I have gotten an entirely new computer and I have the same problem. Does anyone else know of this problem? I have tried 1.0 and 1.1 but nothing works. I have e-mail take two tech support but they are the biggest bunch of idiots I have ever met and I completely gave up on them helping me. So here I am asking you guys. I really wanna play this and hit up multiplayer but it looks so freakin' bad I dont even want to play it like this! please e-mail me @ [email protected] if you can help me, thankyou Link to comment
Guest
Video card trouble? does your other games do that. 1. Try Drivers ( what card you have) 2. Tune Down Your Settings Link to comment
DJ GTA
Mr.Format C: ?? Yea sounds like Video Card Trouble Betty, or should I say DeathBetty.. Link to comment
Kent747
make sure you have the frame limiter on. VC's renderer is kinda odd in that it doesn't work as well at higher framerates. I had this issue, turning on the frame limiter helped immensely. Kent Link to comment
Guest
I will try the frame limiter thankyou. It is for sure not the drivers or the card, I have tried other cards and drivers and get the same prob. None of my games have ANY troubles. Link to comment
Guest
Frame limiter? I should try that... Anyway. So you get the blurred "stoned" stand-by textures, eh? Welcome to the world of Windows XP. Run it in compatability mode for Windows ME and it should work fine. But... I heard you shouldn't play MTA in compatability mode.. so don't, Link to comment
dystopia
running vice in compat mode always crashes, at least for me. and funny how they include the frame limiter, and not just make it mandatory...i mean, considering they didn't at all optimize the game for more than 27.1 fps (i think thats about what ntsc runs at) Link to comment
-UtopiA-
Go to your gta-vc.exe Right click it Click Properties Click Compatibility tab Run it in "Windows 98" compatibility (It still works with MTA.... Wait, shh, yes. It works with MTA. Stop arguing! It works with MTA. No, stop. It works with MTA.) That'll fix your texture problem right up! And you can play without frame limiter. Link to comment
dystopia
/me forgets he runs nocd probably why eh lmao Link to comment
Guest
lmao! Oh, that's why? But wouldn't it take longer to check the CD drive for the CD and THEN load the textures? Link to comment
dystopia
no, i was saying mine crashes in 9x compatability mode, not that it has texture problems, damn this getting off topic stuff, anyhoot, yeah, not exactly relevant to the original post, sry Link to comment
