Guest Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 Hey, i just download that MTA v 2 file, and installed it, i read the instructions and all, but when i go to "start multi theft auto" when im joining a server, it will load then show the "MOTD" (server welcome screen) but freeze there, and an error will popup, i made sure everything is in the right directory, but i noticed one thing... In the MTA v 2 program, in that pulldownbox to select the game version, i only have 1.0 and 1.1, am i supposed to have a 2.0 ??
Combine Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 What is your operating system? In the MTA v 2 program, in that pulldownbox to select the game version, i only have 1.0 and 1.1, am i supposed to have a 2.0 ?? That means if you patched gta-vc.exe to 1.1, which does nothing at all except fix graphics problems for some Geforce cards.
me Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 no, you aren't supposed to have a 2.0 are you using english Windows? and english VC?
ijsf Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 Compatibility modes? What version of Windows are you using? No mods? Reinstall VC? Reinstall MTA?
Bumnut Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 Sorry this isn't super on topic, but I get yelled at if I start a new one Is there any word as to whether version 0.2 works with windows 98? If not, I really think you should say something like that in the faq...
Cray Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 From my testing, it doesn't Win98 is handling memory a bit different, so we need to research and redo a lot of things.
Guest Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I dont get it, well, yea i got it working fine, but when i die, and rechose a character, it will randomly freeze, like lets say i get in a car, theres a 2/3 chance it will freeze or something, i hope you guys can work or it to stop all the crashing every 10 mins (or expecially if you die), but good job of what youve made so far, its so fuN!!!
SM Swede Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 Win98 sux at handling memory even with itself and the SE version too
