dzek (varez) Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I think he wants in mta something like "friends list" when you can add someone to this list, then easly connect to whatever server he is connected, and see his online status, etc etc. Something like Steam has
Castillo Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I really like this idea, would be usefull some times
darkdreamingdan Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Well any suggestions as to *how* this would work would be nice.
x86 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) Simple, Making the community website bigger After that, MTA need to read content from the community (sort of api, maybe xml syntax). Etc etc.. Edited September 24, 2010 by Guest
Dark Dragon Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 A ""simple"" solution would be to poke valve until they agree to make steam fully support mta. I don't see a reason why this needs to be done by mta itself. doesn't even need to be support for automatic updates, steam cloud, player stats or achievements, but simply the ability to directly join a friend's game. however having all the above wouldn't be that bad either
dzek (varez) Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 but simply the ability to directly join a friend's game ehm.. any game NOT-FROM-VALVE/NOT-ON-HL-ENGINGE have this ? i dont think so.. never seen
Dark Dragon Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 There are many of them. Modern warfare 2, bad company 2, worms reloaded. Probably many more, unfortunately I'm not that kind of person who owns dozens of games on steam
geny Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 This seems pretty darn useless, use instant messengers instead ei. MSN.
dzek (varez) Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 If You never used something like this-it can looks useless to you. But it's really great feature
Xierra Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Good idea, but steam would be a good solution too.
Callum Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Why don't individual servers just script it? You can search for friends and what server they're playing in the server list.
dzek (varez) Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 individual? you cant force owners to install it, so i think maybe 20% will
12p Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Why to create this? The user search bar on the Browse Servers window is enough to find your friend, why to have a Friends List?
dzek (varez) Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 uhm, looking for nick (and your friend can change it too!) in 50+ servers?
Castillo Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 uhm, looking for nick (and your friend can change it too!) in 50+ servers? Yeah, everyone keeps changing their nicks so would be nice to dectect their serial or something like that
12p Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Well, that's true... But your friend must tell you that (if he don't do, maybe he doesn't want to be ur friend). And that friend list may be used as a "Foe List" (following the users for disturbing him), so there must be a Foe List too.
CowTurbo Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 this would be nice for annoying people they have easy to find you to follow you to server from server -- enyway, nice idea
