I think he wants in mta something like "friends list" when you can add someone to this list, then easly connect to whatever server he is connected, and see his online status, etc etc.

Something like Steam has

A ""simple"" solution would be to poke valve until they agree to make steam fully support mta. I don't see a reason why this needs to be done by mta itself. doesn't even need to be support for automatic updates, steam cloud, player stats or achievements, but simply the ability to directly join a friend's game. however having all the above wouldn't be that bad either

There are many of them. Modern warfare 2, bad company 2, worms reloaded. Probably many more, unfortunately I'm not that kind of person who owns dozens of games on steam

Why don't individual servers just script it? You can search for friends and what server they're playing in the server list.

Why to create this? The user search bar on the Browse Servers window is enough to find your friend, why to have a Friends List?

Well, that's true... But your friend must tell you that (if he don't do, maybe he doesn't want to be ur friend). And that friend list may be used as a "Foe List" (following the users for disturbing him), so there must be a Foe List too.
