Guest
The advantage to having a team working on a project is having a hierarchy of designers who are engineering the software. However, this project is huge - perhaps the idea of going open source isn't so bad? Open source does not mean rampant binaries of the same thing floating around, you can manage what goes into the official MTA release and what doesn't, while affording programmers all over the opportunity to build the system.. you should give it some real consideration. Warlord Archon
This has been discussed before and they decided not to release a source. Problably never. There really is no need to because if they do, a million mods might pop up with little adjustments and then all you have is a bunch of little children yelling "Mine's better!!!" Link to comment
xerox
the source may be released in the VERY far away future, but vurrently, the group want the game closed. Link to comment
me
that's probably a good idea, since it will allow them to make a good base for MP. Otherwise there would be many very different methods for MP Link to comment
Sintax
I used to think the same thing at one time, but it's not really worth it for a project like this. It would expose far too many vulnerabilities in our software, and any one with the source will only try to make another MP mod anyway. Link to comment
