Argon Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Hi, I would like to develop a gamemode, the easiest way for me is to host on my pc where i script the server and so easy update al scripts and alter them. And on an other pc I test it direct. But the problem is the PC next to me won't connect to the server when i trie to join via quick connect to my ip adress in the network it gives a connection timed oud. Does someone can tell me what the problem could be?
Magus1724 Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Make sure you have the right port too, I think the default port in the config isn't the same as the one in quick connect Also, are they connected by a router or just a switch? you might need to port-forward.
heavy air Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 if your using a router i found that opening these ports worked 22004 set to udp ,22005 set to tcp ,22127 set to udp then use your ip address and port 22004 to connect hope this helps
Argon Posted January 23, 2008 Author Posted January 23, 2008 That isn't what i'm searching... I wanna join to the ip of my pc in the network so an ip like 127.0.0.1 but when i use that ip which works for other games like Battlefield, SA:MP,... it won't work with mta
Guest Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 i'm also intrested in hosting a lan server i tried by clicking quick connect and then enter your local ip (like 192.168.0.xxx and the port). it worked but i was wondering about the "local.conf" which is in the same dir like "mtaserver.conf" and which nearly has the same content. what is this file for and how to use it?
