delfick
well yea, comments were disabled why's that ?? too many people asing for release dates or something ?? (I never read the comments, that be a wild guess ) as wine continues to compile in the background, such a long process... Link to comment

mdm13
How do i play it anyway? you don't ...it ain't released (yet). This is just a notice that perhaps in the near future, if there will be a successor for racemod, you will be able to play it Link to comment
Leviathan
Nice, now only a few more drivers to go and I'm ready to install a linux distro. Link to comment
Dark_X
To bad I have an integrated ati card, I have to wait another month until my gta will work at normal speeds. Link to comment
Twig
Been trying wine + San Andreas. Works ok, sound is a bit weird and theres some glitches texture wise. Have to run it in a window anyway due to compiz. Though, core2duo 6700 and 8800gts and it still doesn't run that smooth. Link to comment

Twig
Didn't mean Compiz, meant Twinview. I stop compiz anyway, not that it seems to make a huge change on my pc. In fact it's a little like theres a frame limiter acting (ingame one turned off) though I can't confirm it as I don't know a way to show fps. Link to comment

Use FRAPS to show your FPS in-game. Link to comment

And what about your sound card/onboard sound?GTA:SA 1.0 does have some little issues with some onboard sound chips. Link to comment
Twig
I wouldn't know about onboard as I don't use it on mine, my sound card is an Audigy2 ZS and the sound works. Though the sound I have to admit isn't bad, I haven't noticed anything missing it's just it doesn't get the distance factor quite right. People have interpreted this as sounds being really quiet (ie a bug with certain sounds), it's just that the reduction of sound with distance is wrong generally I find. Tbh though the fact I can run compiz IRC Delugetorrent and watch a DVD while getting easily playable fps is pretty nice. Link to comment

Dunno if you mean this: SA has a fps limiter set for 25 fps. Link to comment
Ravenheart
Actually MTA:RACE has that frame limiter, GTA HAS it also but by default is OFF(and you can turn it ON if you want in the Settings). Link to comment
ShOtGuN
I think it depends on what OS you install it on.. Because at me, frame limiter is always on by default.... Link to comment
