paul527 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Remember playing MTA:VC, and trying to talk to your buddies, but they cant see your messages because the chat box is overflowing with dead messages and server messages? A really good idea you should consider is separating the chat messages and the info/server/dead messages. A very clean chat window woot. Dev response would be nice.
pacwarz Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 i agree 100% on sa-mp, they have good feature with kills, when it goes down right hand side, and has a little symbol, very simple and effective...

paul527 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 But only for kills. Yeah the dead messages is what started this idea, but i thought while we are at it, we should separate any other annoying messages, some things are ok, but stuff like when a person joins a server and a big "Welcome.." paragraph wipes the chat box clean... that needs to be separate... i agree 100% on sa-mp, they have good feature with kills, when it goes down right hand side, and has a little symbol, very simple and effective... I was thinking a second little box in the corner (call it the "info box" maybe?), that shows less lines of text than the Chat box, and is smaller
HUNJA Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 But maybe you could turn on/off the dead kills in chat. A press of a button.
MrJax Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Already possible to some extent, I have to be vague here
Kaltsu Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Yeah good idea paul527. This was actually one thing I was missing in MTA too. I hope this style is gonna be in some future MTA versions
Leviathan Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I think making an extra box wouldn't make it look better, just let the kill messages float somewhere below the chatbox and giving them a fade out delay might look good.
