LiL Tr1viUm
Why not give a map editor where you can make the maps so peaple can make some maps so when MTA DM comes out they can play and dont need to make maps first... maybe we can make maps for MTA so ya dont need to do that to;) its a idee:) i would be so happy:D Link to comment
Si|ent
The editor is an integral part of mta so I doubt any kind of standalone version would be released, working on that (if it was even feasable) would just take time away from the main release. Link to comment
erorr404
Objects that you create in the current editor can probably be converted to the new format. Link to comment
Guest
Well, in this one 2D game called Soldat people can make their own maps and when you join the game you download the map to yourself.. It makes the folders for that game huge, so I think it would do the same thing for MTA. A whole new map for it, think how big it would be.. And having many of them I think it's still a good idea, and would be fun too. Then you would NEVER get bored with this game.. Which is a good thing. Link to comment
DarkDragon98756
Will people still get acess to your map after playing it? Pisses me off that people can steal work so easily. Link to comment
Jani
The bad thing about MTA is that the server does not upload the map to your hard drive, it just streams it. Link to comment
orappa
The bad thing about MTA is that the server does not upload the map to your hard drive, it just streams it. That's essential for Race mode because people only know where the next two checkpoints are, making it impossible to warp to the finish line. Link to comment
eAi
The bad thing about MTA is that the server does not upload the map to your hard drive, it just streams it.Is that really a bad thing? It protects your map, if you wish and doesn't make people download new maps all the time... Link to comment
Jani
It is a bad thing, because a person might see a map they like and wish to put it on their own server, but they can't. Is it possible to create the option of having an in-game command you type which makes the server dump the map in a folder inside the MTA folder for example, so that you can put the map on your own server? Si|ent
If you want it just make a note of its name and download it from the center. If it isn't there then the author doesn't want you to have it so wether you want it or not is pretty irrelevant. This way maps can be kept private if the owner wishes them to be. Link to comment
DarkDragon98756
Wait, I could've sworn when joining a server the map was downloaded to your harddrive and you had full access to tamper with it in the editor and such. Link to comment
eAi
Well, theres a good reason not to swear - you're wrong. Maps are never downloaded from game servers. You can download them from http://center.mtasa.com of course... Link to comment
