Catzilla Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 What to do with this? I'm recreating Portland in SA from the pieces that are in there. What can I do to bypass the limit? If I use less objects - the map's not going to be any good. Any help? Please?
Si|ent Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 make the map in sections then combine all three (4,5,6 whatever) in a text editor
Catzilla Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 OK. But. When I put the map in my server - some objects simply don't load! Don't load in the actual RACE mode, not mapping mode =(
Leviathan Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 probably no one who can answer you... bad for you... and if no one knows how to help you there's no need of keeping bumping this topic.
CoZ Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 i agree besides the object limit problem and the 'some roads dont get loaded in race' problem , in map editor if you didnt from first object renamed the name to the itemname its quitte hard to identify the problem .. let alone all the objects around it causing the problem in the first place
Lággy Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 dbg_pools 1 = object limit stat Type dbg_pools 1 into the command menu (press ~) It will show how many objects are left. I just found this out today
eAi Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 We can increase the limits to some extent, though we then start hitting other limits too. We've already almost doubled some of GTA's built in limits. We do intend to change to using buildings rather than objects, although this has the downside that buildings are not very flexible to use - they don't really like moving at all, and map makers would have to specify if a model should be a building or an object (objects are dynamic, and are required for things you want to destroy/move like the hay bales etc)...
