Great big problem - object limit exceeded.

i agree

besides the object limit problem and the 'some roads dont get loaded in race' problem , in map editor if you didnt from first object renamed the name to the itemname its quitte hard to identify the problem .. let alone all the objects around it causing the problem in the first place

We can increase the limits to some extent, though we then start hitting other limits too. We've already almost doubled some of GTA's built in limits. We do intend to change to using buildings rather than objects, although this has the downside that buildings are not very flexible to use - they don't really like moving at all, and map makers would have to specify if a model should be a building or an object (objects are dynamic, and are required for things you want to destroy/move like the hay bales etc)...
