I've just checked this myself - I use AVG - and I have the same problem. I've contacted AVG about it, though from past experience with Anti-virus companies, its quite likely they'll ignore us entirely.

Too bad theyre such assholes..

I've spoken to them about it and they say that it should be fixed in the next update.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Well thats an improvement :) An AV company who actually listens :D

Symantec actually listened too, when I reported a similar problem to them ;)

I've changed the thread's name to something more useful btw.

if you either get a virus alert, or get a permissions error when trying to start MTA, this is due to the latest AVG update. untill a new update comes out for AVG that fixes this:

to resolve this issue easily and without removing avg:

-open the control centre

-locate the option to disable "Heuristic scanning"

-uncheck it

-play mta

-re-enable this feature once your done if you choose to

-to find out what "Heuristic scanning" is, click here
