  1. Part of the problem is the ping kicker stops working after a few hours. Players with pings higher than 200 tend to be falsely accused of cheating by inexperienced players/admins. I'd like to say that all of the admins are expert cheat discriminators but they aren't. But it's alot better than the alternative which is not enough admins.

    MTAServer Compatibility

I had to install Slackware linux just for the mta servers. Most of my servers are FreeBSD 5.3 The Linux binaries will run on FreeBSD and the only anomaly was artificially high server pings in ASE, which is why I moved it to Slackware. I would love to see a native FreeBSD 5.3 compile (without the high ASE pings). I'm willing to provide FreeBSD, NetBSD, Solaris and AIX porting support if you want.
  3. It's something like: ((n-1) * n * A) + (n * x * B) + (n * y * C) Where n is the number of players, A,B,C are "constants", x is the number of regular clients and y is the number of admin+ clients. The main problem is that A,B,C aren't constant and vary by some factors that I don't know.

    Gangwar Mode

I appreciate that and I will make sure any further testing is on a private passworded server that doesn't show up in ASE. However, I (and any other testers) would be much more comfortable using an officially sanctioned client to develop/test the gangwar mode idea. Here is a suggestion: - Make a special version of the 0.4.1 client that supports the gangwar mode, and doesn't crc check the mtag.scm or american.gxt files. Make the client ONLY work with a special version of the Linux server that supports this mode, so it cannot possibly be used on normal servers. - Give me (and only me) the special server version so there will only ever be one instance of it for testing purposes. - Preferably the special client and server would sync all possible weapons that currently work (including teargas and minigun). There are weapons that are undesirable in deathmatch that could be used effectively in a managed gangwar environment. This would avoid the need for altered clients while still limiting it to a single testing server so it doesn't impact everyone else. It would also result in a scm based on the current 4.x engine instead of the obsolete 0.2.2.

    Gangwar Mode

I have to say that Urban Combat mode was incredible. One on one was best because there was no need to organize and wait for 'go'. It's a shame that others couldn't try it.

That's probably what will happen. There doesn't seem to be much interest in persuing this in 0.4.x Sorry I treid to help
  7. lemme guess u already tried 0.3 and 0.4 /me wonders what mods KFC has for 0.4x .......lame ones Or maybe it's because they told us it wouln't be synced in 0.3? Or maybe because all the minigun problems disappeeared when 0.3 came out? There we go with the reckless accusations again.
  8. He wants someone who actually wrote the rules to reply, in case you didn;t understand. thats what im waiting for damn i love being right They diddn't write the rules for my server I can assure you that. And that is what defines cheating on my server. I would expect them to lay the smack down on the eula issue, but since nobody is disputing that what's the point? This thread should be locked as it's well past being useful.
  9. Just like DeathB is still lying. Oh well, good thread DB
  10. The MTA team has created their own definition of cheating. I disagree that changing 40 to 40.00001 is actually cheating, whoever thinks that is cheating is mentally challenged. where is that definition? So far I have only heard definitions from players who were not a part of the game.
  11. Well I and every dictionary disagree with that. We've coverd this enough, I guess we will have to disagree on the definition of cheating.
  12. AHEMM was it approved by the MTA team ???? NOPE Nobody is disputing that. That has nothing at all to do with the allegations that DeathB is making about cheating.
  13. I agree, Cheating is Cheating. However, by definition, if all players are playing by the same rules it isn't cheating. Can we beat this dead horse any longer? we sure can laugh you guys obviously have no qualms with cheating. not only are you cheating on a 0.2.2 server, which is bad enuf. then you have a member blatantly use speedgear, admit to it, and nothing is said to him... amazing so much for cheat = kick eh fellas? then again, i suppose u have to rewrite that rule. or ul be getting rid of 90 percent of kfc if nor more.. laugh Show me where any of that was used against the rules of a server? It is very dishonest for you to take something like this out of context and state that we cheat (break server rules). VERY dishonest and you know it.
  14. I agree, Cheating is Cheating. However, by definition, if all players are playing by the same rules it isn't cheating. Can we beat this dead horse any longer?
  15. Hello? We are not talking about MURDER, we are talking about setting the rules for a GAME. Is there anyone here who seriously doubts that all players can agree on a set of rules for a game and then by definition it's not cheating? WTF? It may not be "standard" rules but it sure as hell isn't cheating. Don't diminish the seriousness of ACTUAL cheating in your quest to beat up on good old KFC.
  16. You are right, that was NOT allowed. If I saw that I would have kicked that player. Actually, one player was kicked last night for breaking the rules.

Keep your trolling to the troll thread that you started. Keep it out of here.
  18. Nobody in KFC cheated, we have already covered that. As for banning for stupid non-reasons, be careful what you ask for.
  19. I'm sure we could dream up new definitions of "cheating" but if a server admin and the players on a server all agree on a set of rules, those rules cannot be considered cheating. Just try to find a definition of cheating that contradicts that. I love how all these people who: 1. aren't the admin of the server in question 2. weren't playing on that server Are trying to set the rules for that server and those players.
  20. Even if a server policy were against the EULA, it's still server policy which is what defines "cheating".
  21. Thanks, I will. I haven't had this much fun with mta since 0.4 came out. Unlike when people were using them against server rules, it's actually great gameplay when everone is equal. You should try it sometime, once you get over yourself. I would never allow speedgear in my servers but if a server admin did it wouldn't be cheating.
  22. The eula is supposedly between the player and the mta team. The rules of the server are set by the server admin. It is entirely possible that someone could break the eula and not be cheating. EULA: between developers and player Server Rules: between server admin and player.
