I have done a search on this topic and it has been addressed many times. I didn't ever find a topic where it has been discussed specifically. There was a suggestion about a mod to turn certain weaps off and arguements about what weapons should be allowed in a gang war. The closest thing was about what your favorite character is and this came up. I have heard the term noob weapons in irc, chat in the game and this forum. I have also heard people complain that someone was cheap when they killed someone. I think this is a topic everyone has an opinion on. Now for mine, I think the weapons in this game are well thought out. The only way to get perfect balance between characters would be to only allow one weapon. Imo, there is no such thing as a cheap way to kill someone or a noob weapon. The spas is argueably the most powerful weapon in MTA but it is hard to get without a chopper and it is rarely seen. I don't bother to get it my self but I am pleased when I can pick it up from someone else. I think if you want an even game you should play atari boxing, boring. I use everthing from terrain to weapons an vehicles to my advantage. I never use the heli and only sometimes mainly when joining a battle do I hit people with the car. It may be more manly to kill someone with a bat, but for me? If you are not cheating you should be able to kill however you want without being called any names. Am I wrong? I think I am misunderstood, you have already said you would kick a proven namejacker so I know where you stand but I think you misunderstand what I mean by namejacking, just incase anyone else doesn't know what I mean. namejacking. (name * jac *ing) noun 1. To steal someones name. jack = steal I think you meant prevent name jacking not provide it. I think it would prolly stink if everyone could squat on names I might end up being called KungFuGrip8923837 or something. I just want a policy with the official servers where I can say someone is stealing lets say... [KFC]Unit's name and the jacker is booted. That is the topic. I want to avoid the subject of a name logon because it raises tech questions and gets us off topic. In summary DeathB stands firmly on both sides of this issue. 56kers are not cheaters they have as many disadvantages to make up for the advantages. MrBump normally hovers around 300 or so ping and that is competitive but someone with an 800 ping? I just move on, my choice, I don't think they should be banned. Because it's a client side game it might be the only game they can play with smooth action on thier side, why rob them of that? I am normally at 50 ping sometimes in the 30's. Even someone like Deathb who is normally around 130 or 100 or so has an advantage. It's just like real life. No such thing as a fair fight just compensate for your disadvantages with your advantages. Better english than just about everyone else Both problems are common in mta it's just one of the things that you deal with. They are the same problem. sync. Your computer thinks the guy is knocked down. His computer has his player standing and shooting so your computer has him shooting while laying. The car is the same thing, lag, sync... This is a client side game. That means that your computer is the final judge. If you computer looses a packet. (for instance. You throw a moltov.) In your screen he is on fire. He doesn't see anything. Or you might switch weapons and he missed the packet. He sees you punching while you are shooting and kills you easily. a few tips. Keep moving always. Switch weaps if you seem to be doing no damage. Ignore the spawning of the other guys weaps or his health disappearing. He isn't dead until you see it in the chat. If you blow up a car and he is off the map? Run and wait for him to reappear on the map he could be anywhere by the time you sync up again. hope to see you online, bye
