That sounds good and I would like to get one schedueled. Just let us know how many people you have ready we will get that many ready as well. I am thinking of Camaro Nutz Pi kfg <--- /me talked in the 3rd person Schark or others based on availablity. We will want to avoid carkilling as well but like you said sometimes it can't be avoided. We will not however use cars as an exploit

I had to check the date on that post... it was from today? In 0.4.1 the stubby isn't half as deadly as it was in 0.3 I can't use the stubby anymore because I wasn't a jumper or glitcher I just ran around and tried to time ppl with the aiming. The pause the stubby has after firing makes it a one shot you better hit thing for me. I refuse to glitch shots off like everyone who is sucessful with the stubby does now. I use the Secret Service and I think he is equal or better than any occupation. The Crusader is my second favorite now followed by the Cop or Sailor. The M60 is about a million times better than it was. Less bullets than version 0.2 sure but you don't need them all anymore. Also the Mp5 is great. The only point I'll agree on is that robber is still overused. Why not have a Crusader Spawn war for once... Vice City is bigger than a junkyard and it's sad to me when I see that clump of ppl grouped there.

What's extrordinary is that you keep at it Did using this bot require a CRC check go around? I don't think it did because someone in this thread talked about testing it and that would mean they had a crack I guess. I know people who have used it but I am more concearned with making sure noone I can influence ever does again. You will have some sucess making sure people can not use it. Almost as important is letting people know they should not either.

The playing field is even already thou The guy with the flamethower earned it and he deserves to be stonger until he is killed fairly. You can pickup a shotty and creep up on him if you like and kill him If car kills were as hard as in VC it wouldn't be this big of an issue. The LC map gives you plenty of ways to hide from someone with better firepower

That is the key problem. If it were attack/defend format it would be easy to either count the person as dead or allow a respawn. But that format isn't a good fit for this game. The problem with allowing a script to calculate either a no kill or minus point is that credit is given to somone who didn't car kill. I would suggest we discourage car killing but accept that some people will die from cars by accident or circumstance. I think you can get the script to not count (vehicle) deaths in the score but like you said there are other stategic uses of the car kill to disrupt the team and split them up or take away thier weapons. We might just have to have a few test wars to learn what the problems will be. We can do this gang vrs gang or with random teams.

I assume you are replying to this post below. It sounds fun and I would love that too. I would suggest a reset of scores and money and go is called. More teams would work with this but I want to face off against one gang as well for competition purposes. You can have the admin kill everyone right before the match starts in a script I assume but that might crash ppl. Otherwise I would say no pickups before the match or some nonsense will spring up at the Amunations

So far this thread has focused how to technically stop these things from cheaters who want to use them. I think that is good an nessasary. I also think some people have used these things because they were a sort of grey area and a novelty. I haven't seen a bot in game or used one but I understand what they are capable of and why they are unwanted even if people see them as a harmless joke in some forms. I see them as something I wish wasn't thought up and something that should be discouraged as much as any other cheat. I think the word should spread thru to all of the experienced players in this game that these things are not fun and harmless but a cheat and you will be banned from servers and kicked from gangs for using it. I have done this with my gang and I will back this up. Since this game started there have been easy to get cheats that every vet has had access to. It was the general policies to stop people who use them from being accepted into the community and the idea of fair play that has kept them out for the most part. Same here. In brief: Please find a way to make bots impossible if you can but also spread the word that using them means you are banished.

get a new one or use disk doctor... anything else you are hinting at won't be discussed here. Also you want to pick up GTA3 as well Both worth the extra cash for the enjoyment you will get out of them. Less than a date for dinner and movies plus no annoying "high and dry" feeling or a slap on the face And MTA always respects you in the morning

I would be one of those complaining about lack of cars. It is good that you took away the money and credit from the car killer but like was said above. Some people just want you dead and don't care who gets the credit or they do it to get weapons in a hurry. The version is great... The addition of money to earn weapons is a nice innovation and it's worth a bug or two involving cars. If it was possible to determine who did the car kill then scripts could be written to slap them from admin or even slap them to death. Some people seem to like it how it is... I think we can just try and police this at the admin level for the servers that don't want endless carkills. I guess zero damage for car kills would be just as bad but it would force more gun action. I gather that the car kills are an all or nothing thing. I would rather deal with this issue than not have this version for sure.

That was exactly my attitude toward Helikills in Vice City. I already said what I feel makes this different. Well VCES always kicked for Helikills and it was a nice alternative to the madness in the partyserver. Now the PartyServer LC will be somewhere that ppl can go for less of the constant car noobing. As an alternative I guess. For me it's just too much hard work to lose too easily in Liberty City after you are on a roll. I am good at avoiding cars but these can just clip your feet and kill you. It seems unlikely to change since the team likes it that way so we will adjust as much as possible and then let the admin do the rest.

OK I have been playing GTA3 now and I have read this whole thing. I agree more with Loendal and Bump than anyone else The car noob problem in GTA3 is worse than Helikills in Vice. In Vice you aren't accumulating anything and helikills are way harder than car noobing in GTA3. Even someoone who helinoobs all day has skill... I can't do it that well. Anyone can car kill in GTA3 If you don't play LC you really can't comment in here. I have always been for letting lamers be lame and just dealing with it. It's the policy in the servers I admin. but... In GTA3 you have the following factors that are different. 1. Car Kills are instant 2. You are more competitive if you kill and earn and survive to use the money 3. People in GTA3 run much slower than in Vice. People have a million cars to jump into and they never hop out except to trade. You can't help but kill some ppl with you car but it should be accidental and you should apologize. Even with your handgun and bat you can kill others... There is a shotgun pickup that is easy to find if you are broke. You need to use cars to protect yourself but and you have to be careful and adjust your Vice City "stand in the open" techinques. Car Noobs in GTA3 are a menace I am shocked to hear anyone with another opinion. Killing in LC is different and hard at first but it's a skill worth honing. I can't convince anyone to agree with me but if you do then the Liberty City Partyserver is your haven. I will kick people who never get out and fight and so will the other admins on there. Hopefully it can be adjusted in a later version because on servers where it's completely fine to car noob it will take away the incentive to earn and the game will become Midtown Madness 4

I agree that the only smart way to have a GTA3 match is with a timer. The game allows plenty of stategy and the random spawns will make it more interesting. You might have to set up gaurds for the Amunations ect... I would discourage car killing but you can't make it a rule since it's so easy to do it by mistake. There shouldn't be any incentive to carkill since your team might not get the credit. I would just say at the start you would reset scores and money and then start the script. We want to play a GTA3 match even with a few ppl just to get going. Me, Nutz, Camaro and Pi for example... Is VCA up for that?

It seems all of these types of rules will not work with this type of game. Too much setup and way too many things can go wrong. I would suggest a TeamScript for this type of match. The only unfortunate thing is car kills because it could easily count as a friendly kill if you get ran over by the enemy. Since that is equal for everyone and it's unavoidable I guess it's something we have to live with. You have to coordinate with your team to regroup when you respawn

I only argued before regarding this because it seemed my idea was run with without me on purpose. I am satisfied that it's just a matter of ease of setup and not a personal grudge against my little band of warriors. You won't hear me complaining about our not participating, I wish you guys luck getting this off the ground cleanly so more of these can happen. I think Bump's suggestion regarding Admin+ should be considered... If you want to ensure footprints on a defenders base or any other rule it can be enforced with this new admin. I hope KFC is invited into the next one and we will invite all into the next one we organize. It sounds like too much fun to have squabbling ruin this like it does with most things in this "game".

Nothing about that was personal... I wouldn't leave... Yeah, I think Aeron was the last person standing in round 2 and he had all the kills.. for both teams... I could be wrong.. But he definately killed more ppl than we were fighting.. laugh

all the difference an e can make... It was great thou... We attacked the robber house and I killed Deathb (by accident for real) and we had some other team kills... I have no idea how we won the round. Wheel and Someone else pulled it out. Round 2 They attacked us at the Army Base. Wheel and Bill didn't know Go was called and they got swept off a roof by a heli... I was hacking away on Quig with a katana and got killed. Aeron was the only one left against furn they were desynced somehow and we had a noob on our team respawn (Wheelman... laugh) So the round was FKU's Round 3 We didn't group up just got in and called go. MrBill bailed so we were a player down. (he thought FKU Sluggo was joining I guess). We went roving and won the round in various battles. it was fun and a clean match.

If you spawn as Crusader you will see bikes at almost every place you spawn... Man does not live by Mex and Robber alone (anymore that is)
