It isnt a change, we ran a Poll with that question for a long time and the islands being treated seperately won by a long shot. Personally I had been in favour of having the entire map available, and working on ways around the poroblems inherant with that approach but the poll decided against it.

Good work Oli, ill pop along tonight. Perhaps it would be wise to invite allcomers, we can tag up once we know how many are there (using any old tags for team id) EDIT: Kungfu yes it should work for different numbers of gangs, also for different amounts of people per gang, 5 in one, 4 in another, 2 in the third etc. Due to the way the script identifies gang members and groups them we will have to have a slight rethink about the naming methods used, originally i had wanted for instance VCA1 VCA2 VCA3 on one side and [KFC]fullname [KFC]someoneelse [KFC]andthisguy on the other to make it clear even at distance whos enemy and who isnt, the script however can only identify [tag]name {tag}name (tag)name and tag>name. So that would mean VCA>1 VCA>2 etc to still keep it short. As for the third gang, need to find a way to make thier name stand out too. Perhaps, using vca as an example again, we should use [VCA]-1-[VCA] So at distance we might see something like [VCA]-1-[VCA] [KFC]FungFuGrip VCK>1 The problem is, as can be seen above, the [VCA]-1-[VCA] format and the [KFC]Fullname format are similar lengths and not easily differentiated between, especially in the heat of battle. So suggestions please. We really do need three quite distinctive formats. -

So you simply don't join an RPG server, you join a DM server. where is the problem?

An RPG type server is something that has been much discussed before in these forums, and yes I agree it would be fun in an entirely different way to the current dm/ffa servers. It would be quite a challenge to provide a suitably free form environment yet retain fairly strict 'pidgeon holes' for each person and logical ways of leveling up. Whilst retaining an overall balance to the gameplay. This is not something we are likely to consider doing ourselves, but Blue will give you the oppertunity to create something like this. Providing of course you have the skills needed both technique and design wise.

At that point i had 6hp. Mainly due to not being satisfied with the screenshots (which involved people shooting me), when your health is less than 10 its flashes.

Never fails to surprise me that people go to the trouble of finding the forum, registering, posting thier questions yet dont bother to read the documentation first, nor search the forum once they register. Setup your server config. The manual, sbs, previous forum posts all cover how.

We know everyone is very excited about the upcoming Blue core, but rest assured some of us are also working on the next islands for 0.4.x GTA3. Last night a very small preliminary test of some of the new features took place and it is shaping up nicely. (Screenshots)

A few of us played mtavc 0.1 the other night, with the version i used to use from 0.2 development, (0.1 with a few 0.2 goodies like nametags, health display (numerical), rudimentary passenger code, chatbox) was good fun, just like old times

The water was semi-syncd in 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 (no firetruck in 0.4 vc), if a car or player was on fire near it the water syncd itself

If you mean many more then I think you will find it is quite the opposite, mainly due the the vast price difference between a PC and a Console. Mummy will buy little Timmy a £200 pound door wedge for christmas over a £1200 pound corner hogger (that will be out of date quicker than u can say FLASH) every time. -

Dark: You need to provide an area where people can have these arguments rather than them being dragged onto the MTA Forums. I suggest setting up a small forum on your website (if you have one) or signing up for some free forum community. Leave this thread for rules discussions/announcements etc and keep the silly arguments out please
