if your on windows xp you need to find your internet ip go into control panel click network and internet connections then network connections then right click your connection then click status then click support tab give your friends the ip address there also are u using a router?

to find your own game click quick connect and enter I.P. address 127.0.0.1 port 22004 that should link to your server before u do that in the server window type stopall as one word then type start broph then fr now start mta dm and use quick connect option above that should give u freeroam with the whole map and a few cars to test with 2nd option is to leave server as is and use quick connect option then when you connect and get black screen press f8 and type votemode press f8 again and u should have options to pick game 1-8 deathmatch,capture the flag,team,hay,fallout hope this helps but again if u have router gets more complicated

hello to change most of yhe settings u need just open the folder that u installed MTA into within open mods folder then deathmatch folder right click mtaserver.cfg and open with notepad i think first setting is server name just put name where it says default MTA server u can probably figure the rest from there if your not using a router to get the admin panel running u need to go to the MTA home page and read the server manual in the wiki bit hard to understand but if u get stuck just add another post hope it helps a bit and im here quite often so ill try to answer further questions for u

i have had my server up and running in the server browser and had a game with my friend online now he cant find my server i have looked through the server log and when it was working online my router had changed my ip address (192.168.2.7 to 192.168.2.8 ) i had to change the port settings and config file but it worked fine now im back on ( 192.168.2.7 ) and he cant find me i have checked that all settings ports and config are right but no joy i have also tried changing my ip address in windows but that just seems to kill my internet sorry system specs celeron d 2.4 ghz , 1.0 gb ram , windows xp home , geforce 5900 ultra ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

this worked for me start the mta:sa server then type stopall as one word then enter should say all resources stopped type start broph press enter should say resource broph started type fr press enter that should set you to freeroam with whole map

if your using a router i found that opening these ports worked 22004 set to udp ,22005 set to tcp ,22127 set to udp then use your ip address and port 22004 to connect hope this helps

this sounds like a really cool idea because i keep forgetting to start a gamemode and when you start mta you cant tab out to turn it on i only use broph fr and would really like to know how to start it automaticaly i tried to download the script posted earlier but it asks for username and password to gain access

sorry evreybody one last problem server has been fine for a few days had some friends round and we linked up using quick connect on my network since then other friends having problems finding the server in the server browser could it just be a bit busy or could i have messed something up using the quick connect option once again any help would be appreciated server name is "heavyair freeroam server" no password i did have a password set when it was working could it be i need to set the password again

still not sure what i should be setting 22004 have set port to 22004 udp 22005 have set to port 22005 tcp have also set 22127 udp mentioned for all seeing eye when i start mta server is this right i have also been to portforwarding.com and tried the configuration they give but that didnt seem to work

press f8 to open console type give eg. give uzi 999 gives uzi 999 bullets or give 28 999 gives the same cant remember where to find weapon ids but there here somewhere problem is only works in some servers mostly freeroam

Hello I am new to the forums but have been playing mta since mta vc was released can anyone tell me how to start a freeroam server i have manged to start my own server but i can only play classic death match, race, team death match, capture the flag, etc. i really want to start a freeroam server where i can spawn cars and guns i am running windows xp home intel celeron d 2.4ghz 1.0 gb ram fx 5900 ultra mta dp2 using mta race map editor to make maps cant figure out how to load new maps either any help would be really appreciated thanx in advance please help Addition I have read the wiki about 20 times doesnt seem to help have also read evrey forum thread i can find i seem to be the only person trying to do this but ive seen freeroam servers online
