afaik the anticheat checked the handling file of player made sure people get kicked after being DC hasn't been updated in 3/4 years ... so ..that are a few clues to why the race anti-cheat didn't slow ppl down

we were talking of two different things both have somewhat the same origin in the original problem it was no scrollbar plus text outscreen - where the middle mouse button probably does work as a workaround for the time being in your example a related problem i.e. forced width but with a image. a image cannot be forced over several lines like text so it will be chopped by the fixed width ... in fact the only workaround atm for viewing images that were posted with a width bigger (than the forum rules said) 640xsome size since they changed it this way is by copying the url and paste it in the address bar (or indeed change back v3 or get a nice extention )

Sorry you feel that way .. i was patronizing the scrollbars!, not the bug, nor the work being done to fix it. im sorry you read it the wrong way Ofcourse i tested it. at least thats something - you do get it working now i suppose ? i must apologize here, i knew this for fact in IE and in firefox . im pretty sure scrolling with middle mouse is default in about 99% of the programs with a scrollbar somewhere. but i didnt download and install opera, just did a quick google.

2 other bugs/annoyances i've found when part of the forum is loading and you do start to scroll sideways while its still loading it keeps switching you to the left side of the page but what annoys me personally is ,the button "View posts since last visit" is only visible on the index

You get a horizontal scroll bar? here's a BIG tip That wont work, you can't scroll sideways since there's no hosizontal scroll bar. Even by the way you said. it does work .. have you even bothered testing it for yourself (ill leave the flaming out but sheesh ... (let me just keep it polite and make you think of the chance a generic 25+ year old might actually know what he's talking about since hes been behind a computer at least a decade longer than you)) even in Internet exploiter this works - but .. i just found out there is one difference in firefox you can click anywhere on the page to get the scroll feature - in IE on this forum somehow it only works if you click utmost top/bottom/left/right of the page .. not on the center (where it does work on other sites)

we wanted to show the essence of mta .. so racing, derby, etc etc etc... i agree the bemywingman map is not the best choice considering the time it takes. we might make one more with other maps .. basically we already did but 1 file got missing and when we wanted to re-shoot one of the team *bleeped* his gta .. took ages to get it fixed, now its just a matter of finding a good time/date to do it once more - which somehow is also tricky etcetcetc the song wasnt my choice ... well basically we wanted to have a song that stretched all through the movie .. somehow there are not a lot of good 9 minute songs

You get a horizontal scroll bar? who cares ... your not saying you actually use the scroll bars now do you ? ( i mean since picking up your mouse moving the pointer and actually dragging down on the scrollbar is so much slower than how you could do it) here's a BIG tip despite the fact there is no scrollbar if you shrink the window if you want to scroll just click and hold your middle mouse button (the scroll wheel (yes - i mean push it down like a regular mouse button - try it - u will probably see the cursor changing to a circle with 4 arrows )) and move the mouse right/left/up/down

familliar ive started with Tommis x14 script . made it 4x bigger lots of useless stuff, a lot of automessages . example : 25% chance of a random joke when you type ' lol' etcetc if you dont know mta scripting but already grasp the basics of programming and scripting in general its a good way to get started ah well .. either way . its never finished

script cannot handle huge map lists but server can (i have) 5190 maps atm

the moving objects are brilliant well .. since i cant really tell atm how far a player can jump .. i dont think it will be usefull for me to make the map right away (plus the car objects ).. well.. here is my idea. feel free to run with it (ill keep the explanation really simple :D ) frogger

i stress the fact that center already has rss feed downloading possibility rss is just a fancy word for a structured content (meaning the rss feed is created in xml) and its main feature is - once (example) a file is uploaded (or for other sites once a new blog/news item/ whatever - is made ) the internal of the site updates the rss/xml file - your rss client checks the rss feed occasionally and 'sees' the new entry - and your rss client will downloaded that or open it or whatever .. combining the part where the site updates the feed and your client checks the feed every so and so minutes is the key to a fully functioning rss aka .. it doesnt specify how you do it - but usually there are two ways .. develop a really fancy rss thing that monitors your entire site .. or enhance the upload script with a part that updates 'the' rss file by adding a new 'entry' to it (ps .. try opening a rss feed in notepad or some other plain text editor (rightclick- save as) - example this is my feed i use from center (searched on *everything*)) ps 2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28file_format%29 ps 3 .. i again stress the fact that there is a client in the server map that is able to check a custom feed which is located on center.mtasa.com

off topic .. but what did you do to the radar ?

a lot of work ive been up this alley before first ... the script would need to be able to receive pm's from a player (currently impossible) so people can sign in with same username as on center ( a lot of people use several nick's / nicks that different from center) second. script needs to be able to get all the map names from server currently if you go over 300 maps a lot of map names get lost - resulting in a map unknown if script does mta.map($1) - currently impossible to fix third .. once thats done and possible .. it could be possible to verify the mapname with a mapname on center .. double check if its done by the same author for some security and for the script to sign into the users account .. do the vote and log out ... or parse it to some backend so basically .. this is impossible at the moment (there is a workaround for the second bug ... a player could type in the mapname themself .. but it all comes down to the same thing - most people only vote if its made really really easy .. aka .. once a map is finished they get a vote box - if they need to look up the name , type it in themselfs .. no way trust me .. i was set on voting on a lot of maps .. thats why i made a server almost a year ago .. i've 5000+ maps now but it needs dedication to play and write down good names to vote on and actually do the voting)

if you have made your own map uploading system you're smart enough to create your own downloading system else .. try the rss of center do a search in center click the rss button make a feed (if necessary add other searches to the feed) copy the link of the feed paste it in C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\config.xml between you might wanna change the frequency, fullcheckfrequency and downloadsperupdatemax then save and run rssmapdownloader.exe duh

it isnt allowed by mta however - if you change only the SKIN and do not not change the HANDLING it will work if the handling gets changed you ARE cheating i've never seen a car that drives slower after installing a mod

yeh .. (i imagine) with 16 players its total chaos .. with 2, 3 or 4 its already that everyone dies ah well .. i made it more for the looks than playability its still playable - however (imho) it gets pretty old pretty fast . since there is absolutely nothing to do besides going in circles and bumping ive always wanted to do another 'recreate some irl thing' map first one ive done was a GiantPinball table

bumper vortex well... if it needs some explanation besides the pictures i wondered about a new map and it just hit me bumper cars i figured something like it must've been done a long time ago well .. guess again there are some maps called bumper something .. but nothing that resembled a true bumper cars i wanted to make a map that also really looked like a bumper cars stand ... did it come out a bit ok ? (well besides the fact it normally has a flat roof, and lots more lights)
