  1. haha. Im with you on this. why? after he sits down his client wouldn't have to send much data as he stays in the same place until he realises that sitting is boring and stands up..
  2. if not ingame (yet) at least in the map editor it would be useful.. many people use notepad to create their maps, if you want to see the immediat effect you'd need to start the game, start the map editor, see what's wrong, quit the game and repeat the procedure..
  3. I was thinking about this and personally I'd love being able to work on my map and have others test it, give suggestions and work on it as well.. are you talking about the player who moved a building with the mouse? I don't think that was in the map editor..
  4. there might be no errors in your map at all and still it can happen.. try to modify your map in the part where it crashes by repositioning the checkpoints, if it doesn't work try to delete some or add more..
  5. the boats are quite small, you can't fit 16 players on 1 hmm but then again the pirate ship cannot be damaged making the molotov cocktails useless, not what I want...

I made a simple map called 'Desert Battle' which could either be fun or damn boring, only way to find out is to test it.. there are 2 teams, 1 team on the cliff (and the other one that have boats (spawning in 3 locations with different types of boats).. the point here is that the guys on the cliff need to defend their base by throwing Cocktails at the boats.. these boats carry people and their task is to get to stop on one of the repair pickups (respawn time 1 second) to become 'invicible' once done they are able to start attacking the other team.. dead and for them as the only passage that leads out is blocked by huge boulders and the water is full with hungry sharks.. maybe there are too many boats, if the pirate ship was drivable 1 or 2 would be enough.. NOTE: the spawnpoints might be messed up..
  7. exactly, a bit of lag and the person behind ends up crashing in the other plane.. EDIT: just popped in my mind, there could also be a 'ghost mode' pickup that lasts for say 5 seconds..
  8. @darkdragon: if a 3rd person approaches 2 cars that have no collision they will go through them, fair or not normally that's how it should work..
  9. I don't see why it would cause lag after all everything's the same except the vehicles cols are removed.. think about when you respawn for a couple of seconds you are a ghost and others can pass through you, have you ever experienced lag during that time? I never did
  10. forget the 20 seconds, you didn't understand me.. you can keep the 'ghost mode' for as long as you want while the players are in the same spot and deactivate it only when they get seperated, this way they don't become solid forming a large pile of cars glued together..
  11. they don't need to become solid until they are at a safe distance from each other if you know what I mean.. I agree with Si|ent, a lot of mapmakers would welcome this addition..
  12. hmm some people have been nasty they 'hacked' a few maps like Abandoned_World, Abattoir and The_Four_Dragons.. it's damn easy to overwrite a map and claim it as your own or simply delete it's content, I can't believe there are people out there that have nothing better to do..

    hmm? I see nothing wrong with it.. not bad HUNJA even though it's a drifting movie, we could barely see you drift (only a couple of times), if you had changed the perspective it would have been better.. you could tell the other guy to film you in spec mode or something.. still good job, hilarious ending!

  19. if your map is good enough it will be included in MTA:DM's map package, so you will be able to play it on the day DM is released..
