Just fix the core, everything else will get added/made by the community(game mods, maps, resources). -

WE WANT PERFECT RELEASE!!! WE WANT TONS OF MAPS AND GAMEMODES AND PRE-SCRIPTED ZOMBIES AND AND.... AND WE'RE GONNA PUSH FOR FULLY CUSTOMIZEBLE CHARACTERS AND MORE STUFF!!!!!! AND WE'RE GONNA PUSH THAT IN THE FIRST RELEASE!!!!! And it will take another 3 years. -
Fixing bugs only for a year sounds like they are rewritting MTA. Like many developers have said they are focusing on BUGS ONLY and bug fixing for a year is NOT plausible. Put simple, they are trying to pack too many things in a first release, thats why its taking forever.
-
So, if it's that way, why are you waiting for MTA instead of GTA IV? I mean, it's GTA with multiplayer and you say it will come out earlier than MTA. It will be pretty much bug free too (that's what one would expect at least). It seems to me you're expressing your impatience on the wrong forum. Just forget about MTA and start waiting for GTA IV instead, as you're guaranteed that that will come out (since some of you apparently believe that MTA won't). Its my decision to wait for whatever i want, at the current pace MTA will come out after GTA4 even with GTA's delay. Has it come to your attention that has been on a "bug hunting" and "feature freeze" status since a year or so. I don't know how DM looks but fixing bugs for a year does not seem plausible, either that or it wasn't on a feature freeze.
-
When GTA4 comes out, they will be on Beta status, maybe when GTA5 gets announced we MIGHT see some kind of semi-public(read closed beta for IRC zombies). My guess is its coming out when a new pope gets elected. Hey we want PERFECT, FLAWLESS, 0-BUG release right?

Try using WinGate to share the connection.

EXAMPLE: Blitz3D is a BASIC like language with DirectX 7 3D graphics support. It was designed for Windows2000 but works flawlessly on XP AND Vista without compatibility patches. EXAMPLE: Corsairs! Gold is a sea game(ships and ports and broadsides and cannons and so on) which is designed for Windows98/2k it DOES NOT work under WindowsXP, but it WORKS under Windows Vista. EXAMPLE: Project I.G.I. is a stealth action FPS, designed for Windows98/2k it DOES NOT work under WindowsXP, but it does under Windows Vista. There are a ton of examples how applications designed for Win98 or 2k don't work under XP, but do under Vista. And about your TONS OF PROGRAMS THAT DON'T RUN, well run them in Administrator privilege and/or add them to DEP exclusion list and the only applications that won't run are the ones with crap protections (like ASProtect 1.2x - 1.3x), unpack those applications and you will see how the applications WORK FINE. As of MTA:Race, they think its the Anti-Cheat protection that screws up under Vista, yet they don't even want to consider releasing a version of RACE with anti-cheat protection disabled. Here comes the fun part, again they claim that since alot of improvements have been made on the BLUE core, the source code of RACE cannot compile anymore(they are incompatible), okay.... WHAT ABOUT THE LAST INTERNAL BUILD??? OR DOES EVERY TESTER DELETE IT RIGHT AFTER HE PLAYS IT??? -

@ Mr. Sh*tGuN i suggest you try Compatibility mode and THEN make comments on something you haven't tested. -

Do I understand you correclty? You are complaining about crashes, but you don't want to wait for a stable version. Ever heard of Windows Vista? -

1. Isn't 3 years a long time? 2. As far as i know the devs themselves very rarely respond to topics, most of the times its scripters or map builders. 3. The best thing they can do is patch the "remaining few bugs" and release, and if they want near-perfect or perfect mod - go throw yourself from a cliff. 4. I have exactly NOTHING, i have a Crash 2 Desktop, oh and at least the "half-assed piece of SH*T mod" works. 5. 3 years vs a few months? Is that your idea for a early release. -
@Impervium chill out, we're all mad but cursing really is not good for a rant topic. Whoa tens of thousands? How fast people forget reality, RACE isn't played by more than 1000 people any more(i'd say 500 but that wouldn't be counting USA and Canada). In reality this mod is now competitor to Knights of the Force, for those of you that do not know, Kotf was meant to be released before ohhh 2-3 years? And every time its "getting released" the idiotic turkish developer pops up with a new excuse(polishing the game, on holiday, hdd brake down, old backup, hosting went down, my family got screwed up and so on). So either STOP POLISHING or bury this mod once and for all so we can go wait for something else.
-
The community is dead, they know it and we know. I don't think anyone really cares anymore if this gets released or not, it passed its time long ago and the only people still waiting for it to comeout are hardcore fanboys.
-
What? I was prooven wrong with the windows install date = crushed idea. Like i said, if you look at some of the odler topics there was someone(not me) who uggested MTA Team use the HDD id/serial orsomething related to the hard disk.
-
Well after the install date idea was crushed, that seems the only logical add-on to the ban system(someone earlier had suggested using the HDDs id number or something).
-
The dispute here is not "why do you use Vista" its "When will MTA work on Vista", i don't care how many reason someone writes, i USE Vista and I like Vista.
-
Show me where exactly does windows store its install date in the registry.
-
Now all we need is a dev to read this and give his opinion.
-
Okay, but you won't: 1. Play on server and get banned 2. Reinstall windows 3. Play again and get banned again 4. Reinstall again In the long run cheaters will get annoyed with reinstalling every day.
-
How many people will reinstall windows just to get unbanned in a game?
-
I still belive the best ban system will be to check for the install date and time of windows(i doubt there will be people with the same day, month, year, hour, minute, second install date). and based on that install date MTA could generate some sort of serial. Yes it is possibile to change the install date/time but its a hell of alot harder than just changing your IP or using Sockscap.
