  1. Again, I point to the little app I wrote. It lists all the spawnpoints and the type of vehicle. Allows you to change the vehicle type, name and order they are used in. 4 posts up ^

  5. I don't think that would work. Because the decent people would opt out, leaving the vote spammers who initiate as soon as they join a server or die. So they would all vote yes and the map would change every 10 seconds

  7. An admin command that lets you stop someone initiating votes would be good. Then you can stop vote spammers and let everyone sensible carry on.
  8. I agree. Sounds like a well throughtout map, which is pretty rare among the knocked out maps that are out there. One thing that I did notice is the Turismo spawn point is 2 rows. Any way that would be made one row? Something that always causes chaos and damage before you've even started
  9. Maybe in the Capture the Car games, all cars would be one colour or type except one, and when you bump that car you swap. A seconds timer counts up the seconds you are "it" and the one with the highest score at the end of say 3 minutes is the winner.

  11. As I said before, Capture The Car = Tag. A different style to CTF, but still worth doing
  12. I've done one on those lines....sort of. At the airport you have up to three groups with a stretch limo and tanks to protect it. Across town there are a number of Hunter helicopters who must try to kill the limo(s). The limos must get to the lap dance club without dying. It's called The Presidents Lap Dance

  14. I took 5 gos, and two of my friends took 4. We're the only people we know who haven't had a crash. And we've all been driving 9 years now, so practice does make perfect
  15. Is this the current plan then? To use the original spawnpoints? Because I'd heard that checkpoints were going to be used. The problem with using existing checkpoints, and it's a big problem, is for example the person in first place drives off a cliff. Ooppsie. Respawns back at the last checkpoint. Stationary. Right in the middle of the road. Right as the person in 3rd place is coming up to it, and BAM! Through no fault of his own the 3rd place player has been stopped, and possibly killed. I really, really think that if there is no re-spawn object then the default should be that players own original spawnpoint

  19. OK, I think this thread has gone a bit to the fairys and asking for things that are too difficult to do and stand no chance of happening soon. So I'm going to pull it back to things that I think will be easier to code. 1 - Set Vehicle under Spawnpoint Properties - The same as you can set the vehicle for a vehicle change pick-up, this allows you to change the ID in the Vehicle tag of a spawnpoint. The functionality all works, it's just a PIA editing it in Notepad at the mo 2 - Set Blip Colour under Spawnpoint Properties - Similar to the RGB you can set for a checkpoint, this will be the colour of the blip that shows on the radar for that vehicle. Very useful for Cops and Robbers and Smugglers Run type maps 3 - Spawn Timer for Objects - Similar to the respawn timer on Nitros and Vehicle Change pickups, but it's the time until the object spawns. A delay. This could be used to make it easier or harder for the slower racers, and also to spawn barrells on the start-line to kill off people who leave their computers but don't disconnect. Especially annoying when you get two in a destruction derby 4 - Object ID Display - Many, many times I've wanted to use an object I've used in another map, but can't find it in the menu system. At the moment it means playing about with renaming and looking in the xml. This would be a lot easier if the object ID was displayed when an object is selected.
  20. Just had a look, and that's what he's done with the cp Ransom. 6 suspects to 18 police too. Looks like a good fun map, even though I've only looked at it in editor. I might come along to the server some time to see it running. Only crit is that more of the cops aren't just cops cars. Personally I think there's too many variations of vehicles. Having the slow army truck or the Rhino would suck.

  23. This is how I do it. I add the vehicles, name them the type I want them to be. Then I add a vehicle change pickup for each vehicle type and also name it. Then in an xml editor you have all the info you need properly named. Then afterwards just go back and delete the pickups
  24. Pickups are used because it's still a pain in the ass. Having "Set Vehicle" under a spawnpoints properties would make it a hell of a lot easier to do
