no. leave the DOS window open. thats the server. its better if you dont play on the machine thats hosting the server, but if you have a limited amount of machines, you have no choice. always leave the DOS window open though when you want to play.

download the win32 server package. edit the mtaserv.conf or whatever and make sure it runs off you LAN IP, not your INTERNET IP!!!!! then open the client, and connect to localhost ur done.

Yes i agree that should definately implemented. A prime example is Counter-Strike Source, some servers have restricted the noob weapons like the Autosniper, so you cant buy it at all. kinda sucks, but then again theres still a wide range of ownage weapons available.

laugh, i remember when they first came out with the 3Mbps. they dispatched a load of modems which couldnt even handle 3Mbps lol. yeh im with telewest, its 1024Kbps (128k/sec) download and 256Kbps (32k/sec) upload. really sucks doesnt it.
