Can't install or play MTA (ERROR U01)

NoC

Question

So for no reason i started to get Errors when i wanted to start the game 4 or 5 days ago, the game would not start but i fixed it with uninstalling and installing again.

After reinstalling it worked for aprox. 4-5 hours until the error came up again, i uninstalled it but this time it didnt let me install it again and says "Multi Theft Auto has not been installed properly, please reinstall"

Tried reinstalling for 10-20 times now but it wont work.

help please!

"cant read mta path"

Is that an MTADiag error? Does it output any part of the log?

Please go to start > run and type ''msinfo32'' then hit enter. Click ''file'' on the left top and then 'Save', now upload the saved .nfo file to http://upload.mtasa.com and share the link in this topic.

I apologize for the delay, only closer examination of your log resulted in something.

Please zip up the contents of this folder: c:\users\jason\appdata\local\ijsoft

Also zip up/add in the same .zip this file: c:\windows\syswow64\regsvr32.exe

Password the .zip archive with ''infected'' and upload to http://upload.mtasa.com then share the link in this topic please.

Don't try to run those files or remove anything before further instructions after this.

Your PC seems infected by a trojan, since that AppData folder is one of the many variations infected users found to be used by an virus.

Check https://www.google.com/#q=appdata\local\ijsoft (infected PC's have the presence of this folder in common).

run antivirus/malware scans such as for example with Malwarebytes (get from http://malwarebytes.com) and AVG Antivirus free (http://www.avg.com/us-en/free-antivirus-download)

Remove the regsvr32.exe entry from your autostartup list (when Windows starts). Since the malware/trojan is reliant on regsvr I think the problem with loader.dll is related, after you tried cleaning up the infection open Commandprompt, and type this: regsvr32 C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas 1.5\MTA\loader.dll (if your MTA installation folder is differnent, change the commandline)

Try launch MTA now, if it gives another .dll to be at fault, re-register them using regsvr one by one until you run out of errors.

I did everything you told me and tried to start MTA

I get : "Error CL03 Registry key not writable"

And if i try to type in  regsvr32 C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas 1.5\MTA\loader.dll  it tells me "fail to load module "C:\Program"

If i type it in without the regsvr32 however it only tells me that im trying to open a .dll file

edit : Okay i managed to open the loader with regsvr32 BUT i get the DllRegisterServer-Entrypoint Error

this is confusing

Did you also run the antivirus and malware scans? And it found nothing?

The point is your PC is infected and in that case it fails to find the virus, please run a full scan. If still nothing is detected run: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/

If you go to the loader.dll and rightclick it, then select Edit, will it open notepad or any editor and display stuff? (not looking for its content, but to test access)

Also, please add screenshots of the Security properties tab of MTA install folder (main), MTA San Andreas 1.5 > MTA, and also the loader.dll file.

I forgot to ask, did the sfc /scannow you executed earlier complete without any errors or did it not manage to repair anything (explicitly stated on finish, like ''but was unable to repair all of them'')

so, can i never play MTA again or what? :D

This will never be your fate, if you don't manage to clean up this virus infection you can simply re-install Windows or keep trying to identify the specific virus/trojan in question so that you can get a specialised remover tailored to this virus variant.

Ok, i restarted my PC like 5 times and now it suddenly works lol

Thanks for the help! :D

Odd, but ok. No problem, just don't forget you're still infected with a virus/trojan and it can re-occur due to that or cause other problems, I advise you to still take efforts cleaning your PC of the infection. Living on with a virus infection just isn't a good idea..
