Guest Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Ok, I just got GTA Vice City for PC. I installed it and everything , but when I go to play it, my mouse turns into a CD disk looking thing (like its trying to load) but nothing happens, then my disk drive wont open. They only way to fix this when it happens is to reboot. I have heard it may be something with XP as well as I should install it somewhere else beside program files. I really need some help. Thanks.
eAi Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Sounds like an XP issue, rather than a VC specific issue. I've never heard of it though. What do you mean "when I go to play it"? Do you put the CD in, or double click an icon? eAi
chaozz Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 sound like your cd is not readable by your cdrom drive. if you are using a copy: buy the real thing. if you use the real thing: use your backup cd
Slothman Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 this issue is usually caused by an app starting to read a disk then freezing. if you have conflicting dla software there can be issues. look at the icons next to your clock. if you have any clonedrives or other virtual drives running, kill them. if you have any burning app tray icons, kill them as well.
