I've bought domains with OVH, which has always worked fine. Not sure how they rank for price though.

Try www.freenom.com. I am using their free domains and they are awesome. They also sell premium domains at very low cost. Some of the free domains they offer are .ga, .gq and .cc. Premium domain includes .com, .net and .club.

I've been using GoDaddy for over a year now. Around 6 months ago I bought my 2nd domain from them as they still were one of the cheapest on the market. Their prices are very good, and the support is also phenomenal! I can only recommend them.
