no1 can connect to my private server

i am having probs wiv ppl connecting to my privar server, i am using esat bt iol isp, zyxel prestige 600 series modem/router, i dont think iol have same probs as aol, im sure i just have to alter router ports or something, but i dont know how to, any help would be cool,

ok i followed the instrutions on opening the ports for my modem/router and i think i did it correctly, but i am still having troubles. I cant c my private server in ase, and the ppl that i give the ip to still cant seem to connect. i have given them right info regards the ip and port that my server uses. Im still open to any suggestions, all help will be appriciated

Yep same problem here.. i forwarded the ports and put in the IP address in my router Advanced settings... still no joy!

I can't even connect to my server.. and like monk no-one else can either!

my router has a inbuilt firewall, like most others. I can get DMZ working properly it opens up the comp for all internet traffic. So port forwarding is recommended since its safer.

Anyways this configuration is under NAT Configuration so you could try it out if nothing works

I'm sure the config differs from router to router though.

Sod port forwarding, i followed the guide on that site.. and that was four hours ago and i just got my internet to connect now!

ok, the ports what should be open are the ports u set in your config file and if u have trouble the port types are UDP and to find out your ip go here http://checkip.dyndns.org/, give them that ip and port and u should be solved, btw, dont run 2 firewalls at the same time, this will cause problems

Done all of that.. it just fucked my connection up.. i think il give up on this server idea.. i just wanted to test some scripts.

make sure you have no firewall running while they try to connect, sometimes firewalls will block connections from 3rd party software. my old firewall didnt allow for any winsock which was a pain.

You can just start a local (lan) server if you just wanted to test some scripts, that's what I used to do. Unless you have complicated ones that need more people to test it, then you can probably find someone with a server that's willing to help (i can help if they're for GTA3)

ok iv forward the ports and i have no firewalls up but i still have the same problem, is there any other possibilities like something stopping the ports listening, im running out of ideas, and faith that ill get this working, but i dont like shit like this beating me. Im still open to any ideas that might fix my problems. Thanks for the help so far and i thank u for any more in advance

I ran a port scan and it said the port was close, and i have forward the needed ports and disabled al firewalls, would this be anyhelp to any1 in the nature of fixing my prob
