Some stunting questions...

Recommended Posts

1.) do ramps help spins? i have noticed that when i go off of a ramp first, then hit the vehicle, the spin is usually faster and higher (ie probably why Ramon and Night use the airport ramp before hitting the bus, rather than hitting the bus from the ground). is it true that in general, if you hit a vehicle after going off a ramp, you will get more height and more roatations than if you hit one from the ground?

the reason i am asking this is because im trying to nail a stunt at a specific location (that happens to have no ramps nearby) by hitting a bus and getting mad rotations as well as significant height. i am looking for as many rotations as possible, with the bike continuing going forward, over the bus, and onto a roof in front of me. is this possible without a ramp?

also here is something ive discovered. if you hit the vehicle at a very high horizantal angle, around 45 degrees, it gets you mad rotations (meaning hitting the vehicle not perpendicularly, but sideways). is this true?

that is it for now. i plan on using this thread for other questions too if they arise. thanks in advance.

thanks for replies, i guess i wll mess with it some more and see if i get a nice jump. maybe i can try coming in FROM the direction of the place i want to land on, hit the bus, and get bounced back onto that place :P.

2.) here are a couple of questions about grinds.

firstly, when you are doing a jump to land on a fence/rail, is it better to put the front wheel up (lean back) or put the front wheel down (lean forward), when you hit the fence?

secondly, when you are already on the fence/rail what is the best way to gain/maintain speed? do you just lean up a bit and down a lot, or do you move in all directions (lean up, down, turn right, left)?

thirdly, sometimes when in grinding, the bike just seems suddenly stop for some reason, as if there was something in the way. it doesnt slow down gradually and stop, it just suddenly stops on the rail/fence. is it possible to avoid this, or is it just luck?

lean a bit foreward, horizontal works too but i wouldnt lean too much backwards, and im using the front grind spot of the col to land on rails since its easier to get a softer landing

for me its best to rotate my joystick in all directions, so: foreward, left, backward, right....

this happens to everyone, mostly it happens to me when im in a 90 degrees angle to the rail, try to get with more speed on the rail

this is just how i do it, there might be other/better ways, best is you just practice and try some different stuff
