Where you put _, _ are float arguments, probably is that problem, try using 0.

dxDrawText ( text, x - 1, y - 1, 0, 0, tocolor ( 0, 0, 0, 155 ), scale, font, alignX, alignY, clip, wordBreak, false )

If width and height is set to 0, that would simply make it not visible. Are you sure that would be of any help?
