TmM_Ryan Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 hi there. just a suggestion i thought off. Its very small wat u might call nit-picky but i think it can quite easily be done. When you press "t" to talk ingame, can u make it so we can use the left and right cursors to save us time deleting and having to retype if we make a spelling mistake? If you could do this for future versions, that wud be gr8 . Pleaz dont flame me for asking a simple and basic q.
l2ebel Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 its good that someone posts a topic about little chat improvements i also have a suggestion, bind "page up" and "page down" to scroll chat up and down ingame, sometimes the chat goes so fast that its impossible to read it (especially when theres all kinds of dodo scripts and wecome messages in the chat) and another thing i would like to see is a seperate chat line, right next to the original chat for pms, only show the last line/last pm you recieved its not that im a slow reader but im playing mta on 640x480 to keep my fps on a stable 30 i think thats all
NosGoth Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Could you also include that if we press arrow up our last posted text shows up? This is handy if your text didn't arrived, because of a package lose. So when it doesn't show up you just press arrow up and the last text shows up in the chatline and you only have to press enter.
Mike Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 also, can there be a button to press to stop the chat easier - for example if you're flying and you go to say something, then you need to exit quickly to stop yourself crashing
TmM_Ryan Posted September 29, 2004 Author Posted September 29, 2004 can an MTA developer let us know? Rebels idea was something else i 4got to add. maybe "pageup" and "pagedown" to scroll up and down the tetxbox.
Slothman Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 a lot of these are great suggestions. its no secret that the chat box is pretty basic. getting it up to par with other games would be nice.
Si|ent Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 These would be useful features and similar have been mentioned before. It wont happen in 0.4.x that is certain. As for Blue, when the time comes to work further on the chat system they will be born in mind.
Yohan Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Mabey something like this that you see something above some one's head when he is typing so (if your not evil) you can spare his life..
TmM_Ryan Posted October 5, 2004 Author Posted October 5, 2004 Mabey something like this that you see something above some one's head when he is typing so (if your not evil) you can spare his life.. whos guna do that
orappa Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 One of the makers of Bleu i hope.. It would be easy to mod in Blue anyway.
Scorp Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 nah if your risking your life to type something than so be it, I haven't seen this feature you suggest in any other game. If you stop up in the middle of a stubby war to type, then your just plain stupid. It does force you do some typos though when hurrying to finish a line to get away without losing your life
orappa Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 I've only ever seen it in other games when someone uses voice chat or built-in commands - not when they're using the chatbox.
Yohan Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 yeah in the middle of battle is plain stupid indeed.. But not if youre standing in the middle of nowhere.. And Call of duty has this function so and i think there are more games using this function
Scorp Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 But not if youre standing in the middle of nowhere.. if I would be standing in a remote position, then I would keep an eye on the radar and decent MTA players can see when a person is typing and leave him alone till' he's ready to fight again you can already tell without any symbols over the players head if they are typing by them standing still so you can spare them if you want, sometimes I mistake them with crashed people though...
Yohan Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 I mistake them with crashed people though... So you see that it would kinda handy..
