Guest
Uh, I'm kinda new in MTA. My question is: does everyone else have this delay that you have to shoot a little bit infront of the person to hit him? It's not because of high ping, 'cus I've fought people with the same ping as me and they say they don't have to estimate the delay in any way to hit. Link to comment
+FKU+VVolven
The aim's been improved since the last version, but there are still some syncing issues, such as if a person happens to take a swing with a melee weapon, move a step closer and start swinging again, you'll see them next to you though they'll be a step or two away, think the same applies to weapons with longer stance setups, like the M60. This can also come from someone using a weaker or stronger PC, graphic lag doesn't decrease your ping but it has the same effect. Link to comment
Guest
Well, I mainly use the shottie, and it seems to be the same for most others... so nvm, really. Link to comment
Scorp
Well, I mainly use the shottie, and it seems to be the same for most others... so nvm, really. u have to learn how do properly shoot with the stub... u dont shoot right where u see the person on the screen, cause chances are that he is indeed moving. u'll have to predict where he's moving, and then shoot a little bit in front of him m60 is different tho cause there the opponents are usually stading still, so u just need to shoot right on them obviously.. Guest
Indeed. I've only played for a week or so, but I'm a quick learner. An important thing is also to jump sideways right after you fire it. But one thing I don't get is, when a person with a stubby is standing completely still, and has been for over 10 seconds, I never hit when shooting him right in the face? Link to comment

Guest
...I forgot to add; while HE'S shooting back at ME (he's turning around and aiming while I'm hopping around like a looney loading shell after shell into him, trying to avoid his shots). I know how pausing works, and that ain't it, in this case. Link to comment
MrJax
the stubby is a bit like the m60/m4, well any gun really.... if 2 ppl are shootin at eachother at the same time, they cancel out eachothers shots, so if someones standin still with shoot held, its gonna b slighty harder to hit them, but then they're still so u can move and jump around to try and get them to move Link to comment

Slothman
another explanation could be that your target has an extremely low framerate, and is simply not seeing the animations of you shooting him. the way you can tell if someone has a low FPS is that they move really jumpy, even if they have a good ping. orappa
I don't see how you could have a low ping and a low framerate. When the server pings the clients, it sends a short packet which they then reply to. If the computer is busy processing all of the graphical features of the game, then there's going to be a delay until it processes the ping packet and sends a reply (hence the ping is higher)... if that makes sense. hmm that could explain why people say i'm warping around my comp is: 1.8 ghz, 1024 mb ram... and im running BB connection, textures load very slow at times in GTA, my comp must be 2 slow What's your graphics card? If you have a slow card and/or it has a low amount of memory, that would affect texture loading. Link to comment
Scorp
i got a GeForce FX 5600, 256 mb RAM (4x AGP motherboard tho ) switched it out with the outdated GeForce4 64 mb ram that was in the comp when i bought it saw the change tho in VC right away after i had installed it. Higher res was now possible. Link to comment
